Platforming "CAN" be good in fps games if its done well and in a way thats not enraging, but the games phyisics, and the design of the platforming section in said games needs to be tuned in such a way that the player feels they are always in control and that when they fail it is their fault not the games.

I personally wouldn't even give ROTT2013 that high of a score, but I don't want Oshry to swing the ban hammer. The main problem was that the movement controls were jumpy and the platforming required absolute precision.

Quad cores have been standard for quite some time now, anything that has 4 cores and ~3.0ghz of speed should be fine for AE.

there may be an obscure CCMD to disable normals, but I've never seen it

even the lowest of low settings won't disable them, even mobile games made with UE use normals
