i have managed to get around that by topping off the soul meter while holding the trigger with a blue mana weapon equipped, but i don't think that's intended

if you want to experience that go play Hordes of Evil, it's basically an arena mode of Amid Evil

one of the issues is that some monsters in Doom drop ammo on death, so respawning enemies works there. it would not work for Amid Evil though because all of the enemies here drop souls and if you think about respawning pickups imagine running a mile from here to there just to get an exact type of mana for a specific weapon. and im only talking about the base game.

its just not practical from the developer's point of view and the player's experience. although you do say it sounds fun, so to each their own fun ig.

thats one of the ancient glitches. the other glitch involving water is if you fall into it too fast both visual and sound water effects will not appear, so it would be like a vast space. can be easily reproduced in Bastion of the Blue Moon

i also encountered a funny bug in the Illumination Complex where, if you skip the water release section, activate flood control on the other side and go through the gate to the main area that was supposed to be flooded, the water effects will stay for the entirety of the level.

water controls will not work, but your screen stays blue and the sounds become muffled.

Is there anyway to get Amid Evil VR (PCVR Steam Version) to run at 90 fps instead of 72? Know its a ue4 game and been messing with launch options. I know I can hit 90 easily its just something where its seeing my headset as a Quest 2 (Im on a Bigscreen Beyond using SteamVR Index Controllers and locking at 72 instead of 90. Shows Quest 2 Controllers during tutorial but unsure if thats just how it normally is)

in the prologue of The Black Labyrinth DLC, it was said that Champion (formerly Wanderer) is just a good guy...

im not even joking, that's literally his whole motif for fighting evil. him being a reincarnation of the thing he's against is not just out of character, but also out of place in this game, where the plot barely has any twists, and even those do not change much.

as to ||why the Haven of the Ancients (that's the name of the place) is ruined in the Pool of Prophecy and what was that evil "eye" in the distance during end credits - wish i knew, those sure do like a bait for a sequel, but i doubt they are directly connected to Champion.||

I believe one way they optimized the game was offloading enemies until a certain area of the map. So because VR is the equivalent of displaying the game twice, so paired with the entire enemy lineup of the level makes my performance go wheeeeee

So if I understand correctly everything snaps in increments(4,8,16,32, etc.) and you build within those confines when creating modular assets, then build the levels in Unreal with those pieces?

Trenchboom does look awesome, I feel like using Blender might make more sense when porting to Unreal, but it's tempting to try it out. I was pretty sure the devs used it based on the architecture, but now we know that's not true. I wonder if they used to make quake maps in the past.

as for making quake maps, I did have a go at quake 3
