I'd never thought of || the horrors as corrupted humans trying to harass the crystals, but I like that theory. I had always assumed they were the corrupted and disfigured remnants of the people that built the nameless city, and nyarlathotep had destroyed their civilization when they outlived their usefulness, inviting in the military to take their place, and then the military eventually was forced out by the cult. But I like your theory a lot more honestly, fits with the in game lore a lot better. It does beg the question of who built the nameless city though. Maybe the priestesses? ||

Duskmare is always annoying because it throws the intended enemy design out the window. I would have rather seen them do something like dooms ultra nightmare and just add perma death CM if they didn't wanna scale something higher than cm

Probably, even if we can't CM feels really nice and has a lot you can do with it level to level. Even a few custom levels can make it extremely punishing with limited recovery items.

- DOOsk is aight, wish it had better comparability and didn’t need its own setup to use correctly, but it’s fun

thx for your feedback. I tested my PC using System Requirements Lab website. What seems to be holding me back according to the test is the lack of dedicated videocard in my rig
aside from that I still can experience some of the DUSK's fun thanks to that mod
although, from what I've noticed, the dusk monsters make many maps WAY too difficult IMO

I think the reason why dusk was received better than other throwback games at the time is because it actually attempts to fix the problems and/or do something original while still fitting the style of the old games
