There's the library on the website which lists all of your GOG purchases when logged in (https://www.gog.com/account) and the GOG Galaxy client which does the same.

If it's the part after the teleporter, some enemies can be dealt with by going where it leads you in advance (you can just do a diagonal hop from the top of the gas station and you're there)

I think Big John's grenade attacks don't even have their own damage (so it's just explosion damage) so I believe they are the only projectiles you can survive a direct hit from on Duskmare.
The wall things that shoot fireballs actually count as enemies so their fireballs also kill instantly.
And you can destroy them too. They have 700 health.
And other enemies can get angry at them and begin to attack them

On CM, Big John's grenades actually deal the same damage as any single one of his bullets so it's really his weaker attack.

There's a crystal of madness behind the walls outside, near the cooling towers. The walls have an invisible extension that's very tall, but not infinite and you can scale it, at least with a weird exploit you can.
So it's possible to get the crystal. There's a teleporter there that just takes you back to the other side so you can befriend Big John. The crystal is pretty fragile though so it sometimes shatters after teleportation.
Which isn't necessarily a bad thing, since you want to shatter it anyway, but it's more convenient to do near Big John's door.

Just press them all in whatever order. Also the two teleporters in the main hart of the map lead to two different places
And both places have switches. One of the places is this... flesh... cave... and the other is made of wood or metal or something
I wish the level signaled this in some way. It's very easy to assume that the two teleporters take you to the same place.

you can quickly tap it and hold right click to get full frontal invincibility
works best with guns with no reload animations like the pistols or the assault rifle
since you cant cancel the reload animations its not fast with the hunting rifle or the supa shotty

I wish I could just discard second pistols, because I usually prefer using one pistol and once you pick up a second one you have to press the pistol button twice to single-wield
It'd be cool if there was a setting that makes the game prefer single-wielding when switching to pistols.
For shotguns, it wouldn't make sense, since dual-wielding them only has positives

I would prefer single pistols over doubles most of the time. The fire rate bonus isn't that huge and I don't want my shots to miss enemies.

One thing that kind of sucks is that the player never knows what resources they'll get in the level in most games, so managing ammo carefully is totally reasonable.

Being able to remove them from the game within 1 second with a burst of 4 rivets is useful.

Out of the 3 womanly enemies only priestesses are easy to kill because they are the thicc ones, they have the least health and the least dangerous attack

BTW mama only takes explosive damage that's directly caused by player projectiles.
Thus they are immune to explosive barrels and self damage.

theres a lot of kooky stuff like that in the dusk codebase
like an entire weapon enhancement mechanic that was cut entirely but is still active
you just have no way to activate the weapon enhancement mode

a flamethrower, but instead of flames its soap bubbles
Ah yes you bite the soap and then you can exhale bubble clouds
Also fire is replaced by bubbles that magically spread from object to object

Shots in general should leave behind bubble tracers
Shotguns could fire actual projectiles so you could observe as the spray of death approaches enemies

So every time I try to go from E1M1 to E1M2 in the DUSK SDK, even with no mods installed I just see the HUD overlay on top of the 'press any key to enter the horror' screen. Is there anything I can do about this or can I just not play the campaign with mods unless I skip around from level to level, basically forcing intruder mode?
Is there a way to unbind/change the HUD zoom function or is it fixed?
I fixed my HUD zoom issue by rebinding some mouse buttons to make it less of an issue, and my punishment for trying to cheat the system was the death of my mouse like 30 minutes later

I just thought it was funny that the first time I ever dare disturb the sanctity of Dusk's controls, something goes wrong
besides mouse sens, I think it's pretty much the only game I've played in years where I haven't felt the need to adjust any core controls whatsoever, because they're naturally comfy
but in all seriousness, for future reference, is it a setting that's possible to change?
I didn't see it listed in the keybinds so I was curious as to whether there's a config file buried somewhere that it could be adjusted from
I like mice with a lot of buttons, and the buttons that exceed #9 use symbols (which I have set up for other games that use a ton of keypresses), so I try to disturb it as little as possible. It's not a huge deal, just wanted to find out

I only noticed it towards the end of the game during the faster fights where I was switching weapons a lot more, and it's probably a fairly niche problem
I don't get why the player has to flip even if I only slightly look past the Y-axis limit. It's the reason why I just turn off flipping, since every time I use the crossbow or the riveter to jump my camera does a flip
I would have it on if it didn't do that
A flip should only happen if I'm really looking behind myself when I touch the ground, not when I'm looking pretty much straight down
Those unintentional flips take away aim control for a pretty long time
i wonder if it would be possible to code a y axis flip that didnt flip your control scheme depending on where you were looking

Dusk amps the combat up a lot more than Quake, your guns are way more powerful, and instead of small groups of enemies there are more hordes of enemies in Dusk. I was holding off on Dusk until I beat Quake 1 and 2, but the first three levels and I fell in love with it.

im only at e3m9 in my all kills duskmare run tho
i still doubt jakob is worse than big john given his attack patterns

theres a crystal of madness out of bounds. if you scale the tower next to one of the invisible walls then youll eventually go over it and find a crystal of madness and a teleport back in bounds
open the door, run over and throw the crystal at big john and he just kinda dances on the spot

but you can just beat him to death with a prop and he doesnt care iirc

@narrow sigil sorry for late reply. Dusk textures were indexed to the Quake palette but I often did color adjustments after that as well so they aren't strictly fit to a particular palette. The indexing was just to get that sort of look

But the game can indeed differentiate between explosions to a degree. Explosions from your projectiles damage Mama, other explosions don't

She cannot damage herself, and the barrels also don't do damage to her. She can be set on fire, though

It's less that and more that all of dusk's textures combined happen to make use of every colour in quake's palette at least once
