I'm a small brain newbie when it comes to Unity, but I know that when using Playerprefs to save player settings, adding in new options doesn't mess with the old, already existing ones. Yeah I know, but is Steam's api limited or something? Because it should be possible to alter the .INI by adding lines for new options, or removing depricated lines. Unless the new setting updates an option choice, such as changing from a 0 or 1 option to a True or False option.

Ok, I know what you mean. Would it be possible to make two settings files, one like dusk.ini and defaults.ini? Where defaults.ini would be the settings file that generally gets unaltered except for when there are updates, and the dusk.ini is the file that changed values are written? OpenMW does something like this, it makes it easy to keep track of changed settings, too.
