Dusk has inspired me to return back to Unity and make a TrenchBroom editor .map + .obj loader for Quake maps. I downloaded Quake .map sources and made a loader with working teleports, other triggers, buttons and doors. hey man that's pretty cool, I was just thinking about this the other day as I was prototyping a level design and was thinkin how much faster I'd get done if I was using trenchbroom instead of probuilder haha

i get that they're trying to mimic bsp editors when they made probuilder but some times i just feel like it only half works in unity, have to click faces multiple times to select the right one, weird things with grid sizes and floating point errors that irk me when using the tool

The way I see it is keep the flavour text optional for people who are interested, use environmental story telling and keep exposition short but interesting, leave enough for the player to figure out themselves, some things are lamer when they are completely explained than what the player has in their imagination. Finished e2 secret level tonight and finally finally ready to explore Escher labs.

So far the music for the secret level has been my favorite... Reminds me of lava planet music from Metroid Prime

I've always thought it was one of the better ones. Nice sense of momentum, my favorite Dusk action track, and I was very happy with how elegantly the flow worked out

The only issue with Foundry I had was... The last 1/3... I didn't like the parkour room 😀 it seemed blah. You had a lot going ON but nothing spicy like glowing walls or anything..The GAMEPLAY was great. Maybe more Big Johns there would have made it pretty 😂

I also wish there was more jumppad lava fun.
