The Mavs built an actual title threat around Luka by prioritizing length, athleticism, and size at the 3-5.

Pelinka and JJ understand that formula is the way forward, but it’s still frustrating our roster is so far from where it needs to be. Smart and LaRavia just do not seem likely to provide what this team needs, and if they can’t then this roster is fatally flawed, no matter Luka’s individual brilliance carrying this team to regular season wins.

Someone like Wiggins is exactly what this team needs. If we need to wait until next season to field a serious roster then so be it, but it’s a huge bummer when you have a generational superstar in his prime.
