The storytelling was brilliant, that shit went smooth as butter.

The trio of Liotta, De Niro, Pesci were great + there's not a single weak character here imo except Janice. I'm not even gonna talk about the acting because they're all top notch and it felt like I was watching a film from the Early 70s (a compliment) which is probably the goal. The sound design and editing is near perfection as well, from a technical perspective this is close to being a masterpiece if not one already. Just realized that after writing this, this could be a 5 on a rewatch.

The consensus for Deadpool and Wolverine ratings wise is way higher than I expected which made me think it could indeed be Marvel's Jesus but it was way too overblown. It still has the same MCU jokes + the R rating that Deadpool utilizes but like 40% of the jokes doesn't hit and when it does, it's actually funny. The cinematography is pretty standard MCU like we've seen from before, it is what it is. Both Hugh and Ryan Reynolds did great jobs at their roles per usual while having a kinda meh script to begin with. It's like a comic made to a film except it's not really THAT good. Emma Corrin was fine but come on man, the stakes in this film is not even all that to begin with. Fine another "please save the other timelines" schtick that we've seen 2 million times. The cameos: They're there.

Two elements that made Alien and Aliens fantastic was #1 the characters and #2 the tension. Covenant didn't have any of those at all, idiotic characters, zero tension, a snoozefest of a film. The visual effects were average at best and the worst part was unfortunately the Xenomorphs themselves. The jaggy animation they did for the Xen...

Personally, Vol 2 is the best revenge film of all time. Didn't really care how it has less action sequences. The story + dialogue and the payoff for every setup they've done in the first film just puts this over the top for me.
