Unsure if this was mentioned somewhere in the mess that is #general right now but I'd like to suggest this anyway
Make the filter optional (to a certain extent) for the servers affected by this update.
Either add the option for it to be fully off or at least at the option for less filtering than what the lobby currently experiences. I have absolutely no issue with filtering slurs and whatnot but I really think basic swearing shouldn't be disallowed on all servers.

Would be good if it filtered racial slurs etc yeah but i usually allow lesser swear words on my server as long as its not directed to someone in a hateful way
Some words in the current lobby chat filter is questionable why they are blocked though.

From my /msg experience the filters are bad they don't support other languages and if I say a 2 words that together make a bad word it gets filtered

The filters overreach way too much. So glad I don't host here anymore. Enabling this without a toggle should show everyone that minehut does not have their best interests at heart.

Because there is no toggle yet and it’s better to have test it out on free servers. Larger paid servers most likely have their own system already and may not use it.

I know its more time if u put the toggle on the front-end web ui too, but the complete disregard for every free server is insane
I would call this half baked, but it is at best 10% baked
I'm suspicious that there is no toggle planned or the toggle will only be for paid servers and this is just a typical power grab rather than actual incompetence

Yeah, unfortunately it's not possible to remove the Minehut filter on free servers (at the moment, at least). The reason for this is that we're currently testing the filter on free servers before we roll it out to every server. Minehut servers are required to have a chat filter, whether that's Minehut's, or one you implement on your own—in the past, we've seen a large amount of servers who have failed to add a chat filter to their server after receiving a warning, and have been suspended. Many server owners in the past have asked for Minehut to allow their chat filter to be used on servers, so it was implemented. In the future, we plan to make the chat filter more customizable, and possibly even toggleable so you can disable it entirely (not yet confirmed, but this doesn't mean you can just not have a chat filter, it would still be required to make your own). If you're having any issues with the filter, you're welcome to contact support—whether that's a word/phrase you wish to be blocked or added as an exception, or other issues with the filter.
