are you connecting a proxy or direct paper?
proxy
when I enable haproxy my server doesnt show up it just keeps pinging
did you set the startup flags?
for my velocity server? yes
and your using a custom domain like play.yourdomain.com
did you setup the srv forwarding?
I havent? would it be easier just to put my servers ip w port?
in order for java players to connect you need to setup an srv so hub.mc-vertex.com forwards to your Minehut address (yourserver.minehut.gg)
if you also want bedrock players you need a cname from hub.mc-vertex.com pointing to yourserver.bedrock.minehut.gg
well when I enable the haproxy in velocity.toml my velocity server just nonstop pings i cant connect
not looking to add bedrock players
thats because Minehut doesnt know where to send players to there is no forwarding srv record
like my original server ip doesnt let me connect when i enable ha-proxy
it wont cause with hdaproxy your connecting through Minehut first
how do i setup srv for that?
you need to go to your domain provider and edit your dns record https://support.minehut.com/hc/en-us/articles/27276798670611-How-do-I-set-up-a-custom-domain
While using Minehut, all servers by default can be connected to by using the IP servername.minehut.gg. If you are interested in taking your server to the next level by using a custom domain, follow...
CNAME record?
yeah if your not doing bedrock you can just do a cname for Hub.mc-vertex.com pointed to yourserver.minehut.gg
ok i set it up with play.VertexHub.minehut.gg
since hub was already used for the SRV
ok so here is how that works
if you do that that means your connection address will be play.yourdomain.com
that will point to yourserver.minehut.gg
The Name: part= whatever.(yourdomain.com)
i see, so whats going on here.
its requiring me to put something in for name
and hub doesnt work, i assume srv conflict.
ok, so its connected to minehut. but now when i try to connect on my old IP hub.mc-vertex.com it dont work
do you still have your old A record pointing to the ip address?
would be A Hub Ipaddress
yup, but it seems to be missing the port does the A record need port?
remove that record its useless
done
now you should be able to create a cname for hub
do you have another cname for hub listed?
nope just play
so there is no hub subdomain now
just for the txt
