#Senior Mods

There's no need for srmods, most of the things they used to do are now handled by GS employees
you proved my point again, always have something negative to say
???
That’s not negative
Feedback and requests is basically a debate
You know why they were removed? So moderators don’t make promotions a competition.
The only reason why Jr. Mod exists is for people who just got accepted to learn the ropes.
Also, I don’t think someone would respond to tickets for 10 hours a day while also moderating a server for free
We do have a section of the moderators who volunteer to train the junior moderators — it’s possible that could be reworked if you wanted to do this idea
Though the appeals part is completely impossible for user privacy reasons
I do personally think senior moderator could return in a way it would work but it would have to be different from what srmod previously was. Perhaps as a ceremonious role rather than functional ?
appeals i understand but for the training part it would be better
exactly
Yeah, we already have people selected to help out in training new moderators, so there wouldn’t really be a point for a senior moderator to do that.
it could return though in some way
for like if you have an issue with a mod you can message a sr mod and then they can escalate it to an admin
That feels too much like a hierarchy in my opinion, which we try not to do. All of us moderators are pretty close with the admins I’d say, so we can just message Jamie at any time for whatever concern we have. If a player has a concern about a staff member, they would just report them the same way they would report any other player — through tickets.
I do like the idea of this coming back, but definitely not how it used to be. I agree with how Jade said it should be.
fair
That’s why I said if srmod returns imo it should be in a ceremonious fashion as kind of like appreciation for those who put in a lot of effort into moderating or other areas that assist Minehut outside of moderation
No mod is above another
or it should be given to long standing moderators for like 2 years without resignation? basically an honourable type of mod that helps minehut besides modding, like building, events etc
????
?
I'm literally not active here, never saw your messages
You may as well just make a ticket directly to support, remove the middle-man because that would just be adding unnecessary time
I don't really want to see Sr. Mods return, and it feels more like a fantasy-nostalgia trip all because Jr. Mods returned for the sole purpose of knowing who's new and in training and who isn't
Just doing it based on how long they've been in wouldn't account for their actual activity, contributions, etc.
A Sr. Mod title would also be confusing to people thinking they're a higher authority over others and have other responsibilities or abilities to handle the moderators - no matter how many times we'd explain to people that it's just appearances, there will always be people asking what it means or what we can do that moderators can't
you can always reach out to me with any issues that need an admin and we have the option of support tickets which go to a majority of our admin team. all of our mods are able to answer basic Minehut questions, but even if we were to bring senior mods back it wouldn't be in the same way it was before due to logistics in perms and maintaining user privacy. our systems and responsibilities have changed since the old moderation team was around. we are always looking for ways to improve the moderator experience for our team and a majority of our team has stated they don't want the hierarchy to return.
it would be nice for it to come back in some way
