Video Ad before joining external Server

[true delta]

Hello,
one of my players reported, that they have to watch a video ad when joining my server directly from minecrafts server list via IP.
Is this a new thing you are rolling out?

[kind rampart]

I’m pretty sure this has been out

if it’s externally FROM minehut then it probably will have a video. They are skippable I think.

Are you saying the likelyness for getting a video-ad is higher with an external server?
Are there any official informations about this somewhere?
I tried to replicate it. Rejoined my server 5 times and got no ads at all

This was announced in the Minehut Servers discord, the discord dedicated to server owners

Ok wow, didnt know about that discord. Thanks

Your region probably doesn’t have them. Certain ones only show up in certain regions.

I’m sorry. My evidence was based on personal experience.

apparently this was an experiment

i noticed these ads happen after a kick or disconnect a lot
