Here's my idea with /ad:

  • Separate Ranks and Ads
  • Ranks no longer give any ad perks, but they do last forever once purchased
  • A player can "Top-Up" their ads with credits
  • Everyone gets a free 10 ads per month which compound over time. (Or if a player's ads are below 10, it gets set to 10 ads remaining)

That way, the people who want the ranks purely for cosmetic reasons can get the rank without needing to worry about the monthly payment and the owners who want more ads than what Patron currently gives can buy those extra ads.

what about ad color codes and stuff?

#

would that be with ranks, or would everyone have color codes in their ads

For monotary reasons (and for the sake of my retinas), i would want the former

In 10 months I would have 100 ads if I also have default ranks?

#

I like it

#

Makes it very fair

For the first idea, or you would not get any past 10. Depends which one is picked

All ranks will be set to 10 ads every month if they have less than 10 ads. But you keep said rank forever

Hm

That is for the second one, the first one will just get you 10 ads every month

ummmmmmmmm no this is not a good idea 😭

#

that's kinda the reason why ranks are monthly in the first place

it would stop people who want the funny non-gray chat from buying useless ads

#

(im in that exact senario)

Isn’t that like the big part of why the ads thing is complicated to change, because of how to compensate those players?

well, for the month based ones, you could just let them keep their perks until the month was over

#

as for the perm ones, just let them keep it
