There aren't really any tutorials or anything to help you start off your server, and I'm just really confused on how everything works and how to get started.

when you create a server, it's basically ready to be played on

I want to make an actual server, with plugins etc but there arent any tutorials that can help me do so yk what im saying?

download the .jar file

upload the .jar file to the plugins folder in your server files

like basic things to start off because I made a couple servers awhile ago when u were only aloud 14 plugins per server or something like that

you can do /pl in game to make sure it's installed and green (not red)

so im at the point where ive added some plugins and I have given myself op, but I cant run any commands

i have narrowed down the problem to be Essentials and EssentialsX, whenever I add the plugins they show up as red for some reason

on server startup, it's gonna send the reason in the logs

unless essentials is just broken, but that shouldn't be the case so idk

lowering your server version just to accomodate one plugin (a plugin that has a version compatible for latest Mc) is a terrible idea
