Can I update my server from 1.17.1 to 1.20.x without major issues?

I want to update the server to 1.20.x, but have 68 plugins installed 💀. I can get the updated versions for them but would updating corrupt the world and stuff? Would it also be worse for performance? I’ve been accustomed to older versions for so long that I haven’t updated my server since 1.17 dropped.

Probably not because your plugins will probably be outdated

if you really want to you should try using via forward, rewind, etc

Keep the server jar at 1.17.1 and let via do the rest of the work

I have one other question, if I’m looking to reset the world only, how do I make it so the unique player joins do not reset and neither do the worldguard regions? I only want the world to be reset with all the players’ inventories reset.

most plugins can be replaced with a simple skript just using 10000 plugins IS stupid imo
