file manager -> plugins -> drop any plugin jars from websites like spigot, modrinth, etc in there

You can also use addons which are one-click installs but they are a bit buggy (installing them, not the plugins themselves), so I'd keep that in mind

spongeforge is just like fabric but its for FORGE mods instead of FABRIC mods

Sadly spongeforge is only for 1.12.2 due to spongeforge having some drama with spigot or smth

SPONGEFORGE and FABRIC can not install plugins, only mods. So only use mods with those

PAPER and equalivent can not install mods, only plugins. So only use plugins with these
