Imagine this, you want to create a simple server, but every name is taken. So you have to choose LifestealSMP124P for your server name.
Why not just rename old servers to a random string of characters after 6 months of no one joining the server. This would free up space for names and you could finally name your lifesteal innovation "LifestealSMP" instead of "LifestealSMP124P".

I only hop on every once in a while to work on my server as a hobby, sometimes not going back to it for a month. After a month the server's name should be available for others to take instead
after 6 months or more deleting a server would probably be fine, by then it would be dead and not being worked on
and people should be able to delete their server not just reset it

1 month way to short. I think 6 months is fine as long as you get a warning that your server server is about to get taken. Maybe a msg in the mh panel and an email

I think 1 month is dumb, but servers that haven't had a player on for over a year should 100% get a deactivated status
