drop {boost} of {_item} at #location
You can create a global variable like {boost}
and edit its number with like a gen-boost command
Do you want to know how to skript or just want the code?
how come you get to say spoonfeeding is bad but i dont?
@river grail just loop the list your gens are stored in
presumably you add the loc to a list when u place a gen
also, dont use command blocks... otherwise you have to change the commands in them.
I'm not sure if your trying to change my wording or just messed up big time. I think spooning feeding can be good at times you think it's bad
You can say what you want but your not helping that's what this was all about. Go back and read it
spoonfeeding is always bad. im not sure what you think spoonfeeding is. any kind of feedback is not spoonfeeding. spoonfeeding is deliberatley solving a problem in a way that can be copy pasted, and provides no knowledge to the person that wants help unless they spend the time to go over it, which isnt guranteed
Giving out code, examples, I don't think that's bad in anyway. They might as well get rid of docs and tutorials. Making it impossible to learn. You're being stubborn. Not even trying to understand what I've been saying just giving your side
examples are fine but giving people code sould at the very least come with an explanation of what it does/how it works.
Not even trying to understand what I've been saying just giving your side
I've understood what you're saying. You think that some scenarios where people need to be more involved with the helping proccess is ok, which I agree with. It is only, purley, spoonfeeding (see above) that i dont like.
And why WHY would anyone want to get rid of docs and tutorials? those are excelent sources. Sure, having a human to talk to that can be more versatile in help is always a good thing, but often the docs can solve issues on their own
Sure, I get you don't like that. That's why I'm talking to you. I don't get why you tell someone to not do something without context of how to actually do it.
No they shouldn't but I was trying make a point
I don't want this guys thread to go longer then it should. You can help him or I can
We’ve both suggested things, its up to them what to do now
I said (in the other thread): “they can help by providing correct syntax”, “give them nudges in the right direction”
Right but you know that's not gonna happen
Thats what im upset about
It's not gonna set that example by just saying stop spoon feeding
Yes, i could be more specific, saying things like “just tell them what to do, but let them figure it out on their own” but they never do; they rarely read the message, and if they do they respond “shut up im just helping”
Possibly or you could say that then give the person the docs they need. If you ping them they'll look over it. Their probably responding like that cause your just telling not to
I’d be like a lifeguard, “no running” is the same as “please walk”. Either way as soon as i turn around they’ll forget
Hey you might already be one. That's life though people are gonna forget
Desperate people/people who find enjoyment will want to code more
Anways hopefully I made a point
Sound like a therapist
i don'r really know skript at all
Well, send what you currently have. You said you were using command blocks?? Convert that to sk
I have a generator Skript I made myself where I use a command to set the block that the items are dropped at.
I recommend adding without velocity to the end of the drop line so that the items don't go anywhere
ok
do i need to do anything specific to convert it to sk or can i just copy the exact same thing?
copy the commands? no just use skript to do it
like what was suggested earlier drop {_quantity} of {_item} at {_location}
and like it was also suggested you can have a boost variable, and have it set to 1 for normal, 2 for double, etc
or you could add instead of multiply (1 to 2, 2 to 3, etc)
or both;drop (({_quantity} * {boost::multiply}) + {boost::add})
since you're obviously new to Skript, id reccomend looking at tutoials. https://skunity.com/tutorials/ is a good place to start
thank u guys so much for the help (:
Would this command work?
drop {_1} of {_dirt} at {_168 149 64}
no no no
{_word-here} is a variable
you need to set it to a number, item, or location
.
start with the basics. https://github.com/sovdeeth/skript-tutorials
Sovde has good tutorials for beginners
ok
so i need to make a variable for every example location
or a variable for a item
a variable for the location of every generator, yes. Make a list
depends. You could just drop a diamond, but if you want a custom name/lore/nbt, id reccomend setting that as a variable
wathcing?
no use sovdes
its very straightforward and gives examples
talks about lists too
yeah sovdees watching
theres no video, what do you mean 'watching'?
i am watching the text
looking at?
i meant
oh
yeah sorry
