For example, spigot does not have 1.16.4 but has 1.16.5, ect. Vanilla only has latest but does not have older versions like 1.12.2(for example a DBD map in 1.12.2 will not work on a spigot server). I understand these are old maps and old things but that's because these were cool maps and such that still exist.

they already have most of that its mainly not a wide enough options of types of server and the versions
they probably chose fabric due to it being more optimized than forge
and there is I believe a way to set up both forge mods and plugins
this is why my map won't run, no option for any other vanilla
but ya a custom jar would be nice

I guess not, they have an automatic stop and save so if you try to upload a custom server jar, it just gets denied.
and then they force feed you the version from the selector
so this means nothing is being added / updated

You know the saying “beggars can’t be choosers”? If you can’t afford it then you’re limited to Minehuts selection. Also, external is almost always cheaper than Minehut itself, you just need to know how to set it up.
