I'd be pretty cool to have analytics about your server on your panel. Possibly in an analytics tab. I think there should be graphs for the following things:

  • joins
  • unique joins
  • advertisements
  • advertisements from different ranks [None, VIP, Pro, Legend, Patron]
  • advertisement clicks
  • average play session duration
  • average concurrent players
It could be expanded even more and could help server owners keep track on their server.

Good idea.

#

Would love to see this be implemented.

I love this idea

#

100% should be added

Maybe just have add those stats to the api? like in the server info from /server/

#

Although it sounds like something you could do with a time series db and grafana

Yeah

#

I totally argree that this should be added, but I don't think minehut would invest in it

#

I think alot of this can be added yourself with plugins

Yeah

#

I think it would be great if minehut lets you see how somebody joined

Advertisement with ranks can be kinda monitored with some sort of mineflayer bot

#

So you can already do most of this

#

Only one of them you cant monitor right now

#

the advert click one

some manner of analytics share is a program we've discussed before. as someone who really likes data and goes over it a lot, it's always something i'll be in favor of. to understand more, what is it you think you'll get out of these numbers though? is it just curiosity, or does this data help you retain players, monetize them, or otherwise run your server––and if so, how?

for example if the number of clicks on the server list is lower to maybe /ad joins it might indicate that a change of motd is needed to grab players attentions

#

same with /ad, if the joins from the server list is higher than joins from /ad maybe the /ad message needs some work

#

or maybe even if another server is seen to be getting more direct ip joins from having a custom ip it would possibly convince the owner to try setting up their own custom domain

the /ad metrics in particular are a hard to share for countless reasons. 1st, it's not a central act that a server takes, so there's no central copy or A-B testing. 2nd, it's irregular how many of them are going out. 3rd, clicks on an ad we can track easily, but people who /join the server after seeing it won't register as we, so there's a lot of people "clicking" on the ad that won't show up in the data.

#

number of clicks in a server list we can't track at our level to my knowledge

#

damn okay

#

we could maybe look at clicks in a gui though

chilly flower
#

yes that would help alot in finding out info

#

for finding the most efficient motd

#

also stuff like "unique joins in a week" or "peak times" or even a flow chart i think they call it

#

something like this https://prnt.sc/HjKzTqg9lWIF so people dont have to use third party applications which sometimes cost more, its all centralised in Minehuts panel

But I'm no genius in the "what data would really be useful" sense, that's kind of what I'd expect someone like you or "the team" to figure out. These are just the first ideas that came to mind

They're really funny with people using bots

Honestly It may be neat to see how many players /joined within 40 seconds of an ad, although it's not really reliable because someone may just join from favorites
