#switch not turning on at al

Can it get charged by the AC adapter?
You need to test that first, connect it directly to the AC adapter then let it sit there in a bit
3-6 hours if you want to be sure
Ive let it sit for a bit and see what happens but so far nothing
Nope just the plug
Absolutely nothing has happened though
But even my rcm loader isn’t lighting up so it’s not even getting power
When the battery's voltage is really low, it will take a while for it to wake again
Normally it would automatically turn on when you connect it to an AC adapter
Good luck
Granted I could buy a battery replacement but if that doesn’t work then that’d be wasted money but if it does work and I don’t try it’s a lost opportunity, if only the buyer wasn’t like this to begin with, typical ebay
We still don't know if it's the battery yet though
And yeah eBay isn't that fair for seller
Unsure what else it could be but who knows because it was fine when it went out, though the battery was a little worse than it was out the box new
But that’s normal battery stuff
If it’s not the battery what could it be?
Not sure, tbh this type of issue is super hard to test
unless you open it up and poke it with a multimeter
Should there be a screw on the sd card slot? Like under it
like removing it and there's one under? yeah
Yeah it’s not there anymore
When the switch got returned to me that screw is gone
He also stole the 512gb sd card
4 weeks of having it he reported battery issues and suddenly i get it back not turning on at all despite going out turning on fine. And it has stuff missing and other stuff swapped out for off branded and missing sd card
ah I remember wrong, the screw is on the shell itself
it's under the microSD card though
Under the hinge
yep that's the one
Is it possible to swap out the console itself and have the original casing?
Of course
the "console" mostly is the mainboard where it houses the processor
Do you happen to have eh
a record of the serial number?
Let's check something regardless
Look on the side of that Switch console, write down the serial number
then go into System Settings > System > Serial information and compare that number to the one you noted down
This is to know if they swap the mobo or not
It’s lucky ebay sided with me and i kept the money too
But unsure what to do with the switch then
Oh ive told him to send it back otherwise I’ll issue a police report
he might have previous attempts like this
His account was made this year
For this Switch, it can still be salvageable but it'll need to be run through a full diagnosis
Unfortunately I don’t have the tools for that only screw drivers
you can try swapping out the battery for a start but I'd rather to check other components as well
Hmm up to you then, maybe send it to a local repair service
Well tbh cant the switch turn on just by charger without the battery?
hmmm I forgot about this details
Because knowing this if it can then it might be other issues besides battery
about this, the Switch's battery and charging is very quirky
a low voltage battery will make the charging circuit not "wanting" to charge it
So it will refuse to charge?
and yeah, there are also tons of other components invovle in charging, it has its own charging board, too
So in theory a new battery could fix it?
The problem is we don't know yet
I just mention battery replacement as a way to fix it yourself without running through full diagnosis if you lack the tools and expertise
The battery is a simple unplug replug right?
Well, not that simple, but it's not that hard either
You only need to open the shell then the shielding
Or like a soldered one
oh yeah it is not soldered on
In fact, I have enough resources for you to read about it
POWER & CHARGING GUIDE
• What cable can I use to charge the Switch?
Any decent quality cable from a well-known brand can work but what you also need to worry about is the power supply, A.K.A. the charger.
• What charger/power bank can I use with the Switch?
A Switch compatible charger/powerbank need to have Power Delivery (PD) standard (PPS is part of PD), and output of 5V/1.5A. This is only to charge in handheld mode.
**⚠︎ Warning for dock mode **
Using a low quality power supply can damage your Switch in dock mode. Compatibility is also quite sketchy, even with correct power output (15V/2.6A~3A). Aside from confirmed chargers/powerbank in our recommendation list, It's best to use the original AC Adapter for dock mode.

Check that link on the bottom
scroll a bit you will find a bunch of resources about changing battery
but again, I must repeat, it may not be the battery at all
Maybe wait a bit for it to charge up first
If it doesn't work, then you need to look into repairing it
How do you know if the battery is safe for the original v1 console?
Or better yet
How do I know if the motherboard inside is still the v1?
Hmm
gottta check the serial numbers like I mentioned it before
IIRC there's also some writing on the motherboard but I forgot what it is
But if it’s had a case transfer to a broken device?
not a professional repair man myself
It’ll still have the original sticker no
Yeah but then there will be a mismatch
How?
The serial number is recorded on both the shell and the mobo
When you compare them, if they are the same then they are all from the original unit
Oh actually printed on the board?
No, it's in the software
Oh but I can’t turn it on to compare
Yeah, I realized that now ^^'
This
For replacement
I'm not really sure what you mean by that?
But eh I can say it like this
the battery on v1 and v2 are the same
the only thing different about them (that affect battery life) is the more efficient processor in v2 Switch
Oh okay
@faint radish ha
Idk if this will shock you
The joy cons don’t work either
A spare console detects them but nothing happens
I think they gut several components in there, not just swapping.
I can't say what went wrong till it's open and you can look inside it.
Actually, if you are curious about what they did and want to earn some profit back, then send this to a local repair service
tell them to take a look inside
and sell the Switch to them as spare parts
I’ve already messaged him and the dumbass doesn’t think i have his name and address 😂 how easy reporting him would be
I see, it's up to you what to do next. Hope you get a satisfying conclusion
Gonna get hold of a usb cable and see if tegrarcm picks it up. I did have autorcm enabled so idk
@faint radish
Couldn’t quite take it apart cos stripped screws 😒
But enough to see inside
Put it on ebay and within 8 minutes it sold 😂
Ah I see, good to know. At least you can get more money from it.
