Would reduce a lot of the channel clutter and allow people to make channels for arbitrary games. The channels don't get a ton of activity compared to some channels and not many people make sub threads anyway.
Maybe we could also make #looking-for-group a forum channel too, and finally divorce the idea of letting people LFG in game discussion channels.

I agree, I think this was discussed in the earlier forum post about channel order.
I think it would be a step in the right direction either way. Ultimately whatever gets it done is more important than the active thread about it. Having a focussed one is nice, so it might actually happen.
