#My switch of eight years isn’t charging

After eight years of not charging it, the battery probably stayed dead for a while which would register it permanently dead, so I’d recommend replacing the battery by any means possible
Don’t think that’d just kill a switch I’ve had a psvita for years which I barely charge every blue moon but I’ve had it since 2014 yet it still comes on I’d assume it could be the charger isn’t connecting to the switch or something is interfering with the port for the charger could need cleaning or anything after not using it for that long
I heard online that peoples switches are unable to charge and have no charge, after leaving them without a charge for several months to a year. I don't know how frequent this happens or how true, but it became a large enough issue that it was broughten up with some bigger youtubers to their audience.
what could've happened, is the battery is too drained to recharge, and so the system is dead
have you tried charging the system without the joycons attached? The joycons reap some of the battery of the actual console, and it may relief the battery's strain by taking them off, wouldn't hurt to try
I still don’t know how far I’d trust that since my brother has a switch lite he ain’t used in years yet I could get it running again
I don’t believe in rumors I speak from experience and what I can see with my own eyes
If I was to believe in everything everyone says I’d be a fool
I use the pro controller and keep it in docked mode and don’t use joycons usually use those as extra controllers half the time so I’ve left those out before time still feels the same but if your saying to try then I’ll time it next time to see
I’m going to go back and do some more research into switch and switch 2 fixes for things tomorrow according to Reddit there is a thing called a dead dead state I’ll test my jail broken switch I ain’t used in a couple years a test to see if it’s perma dead so I can put an end to it’s rumor because it’s 1st generation
