“The software cannot be played using the online license” - I’m using one Switch…

I bought the game using Account A on this Switch.

This console is already set as Account A’s primary console, and Online Licensing is turned on.

But I still can’t open the game on any other account on this same Switch.
It says: “The software cannot be played using the online license.”

Anyone know what’s going on or if this is because of the new Virtual Game Card system?

Only Account A can play the game with just the online license. For other accounts to play it, Account A needs to have the virtual game card loaded on the system

Because account A is in another country so I cannot link consoles to load

thats how it was before the virtual game cards too, the system that wasnt the primary system for the account could only play the game with the account that bought it

Ahh man so reddit just made me waste $60 when I could’ve gotten a physical copy and had a functioning copy… 😭

the primary console distinction is obsolete

the virtual cards changed that. it's now just "pass-enabled console" and all it does is let the account share some game subscriptions with other accounts on the system, like just dance's

So there’s no way wround it. I can basically only play that account on that single account…. Would Nintendo be fine refunding the store credits for that then because it’s pointless for me then

but if your bro use online licesence and you have game cards loaded does it work then?

bc your brother can unlink his virtual game card on the nintendo account website but he cant link it again for a year but u could switch without haveing the consoles near, and he can use online license since it was bougth on his acc
