Go to the Nintendo Account website and sign in to your Nintendo Account. Select User Information.
In the “Profile” section, select Change.
In the “Country/region” dropdown, select the desired country/region.
Select Save changes.
Do i just change it to like france or something
Yes
Okay lemme try
But is Pokemon Sword the only game you bought DLc for?
ONLY Sword?
Because if you bought DLC or games from other physical games that are Australian, it might be a problem
Yeah that’s the only dlc i’ve bought
Alr, you're good to go
Does this have any problems for the future?
I read just then that the gold points can’t be used or smth
Because you bought only 1 DLC and no game from eshop, there won't be problems. The problem will be if you buy a physical game which has Australia at the end and you want to buy DLC for it
Sadly yes :( or if you have funds on your account
It needs to be drained in order for you to be able to change the country
Not sure how Nintendo Online works tho
Ahh okay, so in future if I buy another game that I want DLC for, what shall I do? Look for EUR? or just alternate regions when I wanna play
Try your best to buy EUR games. If you get an Australian game, you will need to create a new account and change the country to Australian
I just changed to france and checked the redownload and nothings there
Is Sword inside your Switch?
Also the language is in french hahaha Should i just do UK?
Nope 😂 lemme try again
Sure lol
Isn't there an option to change the language to English? I'm from Slovakia and my language isn't supported BUT I can freely choose any language
Did you also check if it's "purchased" on eshop?
Because it's weird.
That's definitely weird. Contact Nintendo Support
It was another story if you had wrong country on your account but this is definitely weird
Alright will do, thanks for your help though 👍
The thing is physical games are region-free but DLCs aren't. I seriously recommend buying European physical games or create another account which has another country it
I just bought the game from a retail store over here in Australia, never thought the digital DLC would have an issue considering it’s like online ykwis
I feel you. I didn't know about this issue with DLCs until I wanted to buy USA Ace Attorney in physical. Luckily the store I wanted to order it from warns people it's a USA version and buying DLCs for US games needs a US account ^^
eShop language cannot be changed freely; it is automatically adjusted to your account's region.
Changing your console's language doesn't affect it either.
So if you want the eShop in English, then yes, try to change it to UK.
Also, Pokemon Sword has in-game menu which can redirect you to the eShop. It says something like "Purchase DLC from eShop" within the game. Try to enter eShop from this menu instead. It will take you to the correct eShop region, and is much safer than entering eShop from the console menu.
Yep that's exactly how I bought it in the first place. Yet doesn't work unfortunately
That's...weird
Incidentally, just curious: how far is your progress in Sword?
Because the DLC will not appear if you haven't progressed to a certain point in the game.
Oh um.. I haven't really started haha but I figured that as it doesn't appear in the "redownload" (in the eshop) it probably didn't work
I see, the DLC only appears if you have cleared the game, as in getting 8 Gym Badges and finished the main game. Try to finish them first.
Oh really? I thought Part 1 was accessible like super early for Sword
In that case, try to go to Wedgehurst Station, then see if it triggers some kind of cutscene. That's the in-game point to get into the DLC
Yeah, I'll try that in a bit, thanks for your input! I'll let you know if it's just nothing. Though good news, the little bottom right thing you pointed out to buy it, isn't there.
I see, hope the DLC works!
Hey there! Seems like it worked, thank you so much
