RPG Recommendations?

Dad gamer here who loved RPGs like Secret of Mana and Earthbound back in the day and even more complex ones. Now, I'm looking for RPGs with a few caveats:

Simple gameplay.
20-30 hours time to complete.
Good story.

I'm looking for shorter, simpler RPGs these days as real life doesn't really allow me to completely dive into the bigger 60+ hour games anymore. Thank you in advance!

Sea Of Stars is amazing, How Long To Beat says 28 hours. I only got about half way but loved what I played and really need to find time to go back.

I've heard so much about this one. What made you stop halfway? A friend of mine said he felt bored by the combat. But I usually don't mind simple combat. I'm going to try the demo because it really looks like what I might be looking for.

Steven Universe Save the Light is a good one too if you like the show it's based on

Thanks! But I think you just gave recommendations for RPGs, which all seem good. But I mentioned I'm looking for simple gameplay and only 20-30 hours to complete.

liveALive, cross code, I am setsuna, omori, and Undertale are all short games like 20hrs and all the others were 40hrs so a little over but in all honesty if you are committing to two 2hr games then its the same as one 40hr game imo.

Yeah it was originally a Japanese release that Square ended up remaking and bringing to the west. It has really good reviews.

The combat is far from boring if you like turn based RPGs. I stopped because another game came along I wanted to play, happens to me all the time, I rarely finish a game. But this was one of the best I’ve played in a while.

Omori and undertale are fun, I think they’re both around 20-30 hours (undertale only if you get all of the endings)

probably some of the best stories in rpgs that i’ve seen

Omori is a super depressing game though so keep that in mind.
