#Is There an Way to connect an Nintendo switch lite to an TV
273 messages ยท Page 1 of 1 (latest)
it's impossible, the switch lite usb-c port can't deliver a video output.
Oh ok
The video chip for external display on the motherboard has also been removed
you could use a projector i guess...
What kind of projector i can buy it
set it up so the camera captures the screen, and then projects that onto a wall
Ok
I hope you're not actually planning on doing that
it's not worth it ๐ญ
at that point, you really should have just purchased a regular switch, or the oled variant
I was planning on getting one, I didn't know how an nintendo switch work then
Finally, a Switch Lite Dock solution! Play your Nintendo Switch Lite on TV, with Raspberry Pi 4 and SysDVR. I'll show you how to use SysDVR on Raspberry Pi, in 4 hopefully simple steps.
Can Switch Lite connect to TV? As a Switch Lite owner, the ability to dock to TV would be nice. With the Raspberry Pi Switch Lite Dock, yes you can.
Chapters:...
you were looking at this video weren't you?
yeah
That's a jailbroken switch
does it work
No
Oh
yes? but you'd have to spend more money then it's worth
Not to mention jailbreaking is also um..
It's something I doubt you have the time and most importantly, experience to do.
ima search raspberry pi to see what it is
Best bet would be to trade for a switch
sigh...
Facts
that won't work
Even the normal one is fine
yeah that's the thing
buying a lite, and now looking for how to dock it???
I thought it was common sense Lite can't be connected to TV legally ๐ญ but that happens too
Everyone learns from their mistake
I'll help sum it up for you then.
three models
Lite < Regular < Oled
^regular, lite, oled
An lite cant connect to an tv but the other 2 can
Just heads up, Lite is mostly given to kids as they don't need touch screen nor detachable joycons
Yes
Lite does not dock, and doesn't feature detachable joycons
There's more to that... but this is the two key aspects you should know
Ima get an Oled because the Regular one is to big
OLED is bigger
Oled and regular are the same size...
The OLED one is the white one
Like the screen is bigger by bit
oh
the display is bigger, the console itself is the same though?
I tried putting my oled in my friend's v2 dock
worked just fine
I saw an video and the Regular nintendo switch was bigger
That's weird
Prob angle of the camera?
Its maybe the kind of Oled they have
both are about the same, with the OLED being slightly bigger
Basically identical though
Oh i didn't know that
if I gave you a regular and an oled, you wouldnt' be able to tell blindfolded
I mean, you can buy OLED with both red joycons, both gray joycons or both white joycons
Weren't there red joycons on it?
that's the mario special edition I believe
I dont think so, I want the white one
can't say for sure
Those only come with the switch Oled
It's still available to buy, at least in my country
Animal Crossing, Splatoon 3 and Zelda OLED aren't on sale anymore (in here at least)
I want one so bad idk what i was thinking i had my Nintendo switch lite for 3 years
hm...
let's be real for a second
I might be the 1000th person saying this but you could wait for Switch 2 too
do you really NEED an upgrade?
You don't need to tho
Ye
Ima get the Oled for Christmas or now
Not to mention your Switch games should be compatible with Switch 2
I'd feel pretty bad having you buy 7-8 year old hardware at msrp
only for it to become last-gen in a few months
Yeah am kinda regret buying that and am over those age group
I for example got my first Switch 1,5 month ago. Basically I plan using it for 3 years and wait until OLED (if it ever will drop) Switch 2
Just my personal take though, it's up to you what you do with your money. I respect it
my Nintendo switch lite is a little bit cracked
The screen?
Or whole console?
Ye, only reason I got the OLED was because at msrp, it's a no brainer for someone who doesn't own any other switch console
Yeah the screen
Is it a big crack?
no just 2 cracks
I've lived before with smaller cracks on the side of the screen
It randomly got like that
Not on my switch ofc, but some of my older phones
I don't think the switch screen can crack>
?
it's plastic
You haven't seen my younger sister's tablet screen ๐ those ain't small cracks, those are enormous cracks
unless you placed a tempered glass screen protector, and that's what shattered
The normal Switch and OLED's don't have the same glass as phones?
Oh I get you 100%
I have touchscreen notebook and I have scratches on it too
no, I don't think they do
switch and switch oled both use a plastic outer screen
plastic is a good choice for a console targetted to children
First up, the plastic screens used in the Nintendo Switch and Switch Lite are just plain easy to scratch. They aren't made of Gorilla Glass like your phone, and they just don't stand up to much abuse. There have been plenty of reports of the Switch dock itself scratching users' screens, which isn't exactly ideal.
it doesn't shatter, but is far more prone to scratching compared to glass
ye. that's why you buy a tempered glass screen protector ๐
super cheap too
I got a dozen for 4 bucks
Ended up giving one to all my friends
Still have 7 in storage ๐
Bad news: I wanted to get glass screen protector but no shop sales it in my area
i would get 10
no online stores like amazon or something?
I purchased mine online
We don't have Amazon, the nearest one is in Germany and shipping costs up to 10 euros
you don't need to tbh, 2 is the sweet spot
Which could be 50% of the glass's price
2 or 3
first one you apply, second one in case you screw up, third one as backup if you end up breaking the one you installed
It would be cool if it would be repaired with another glass
it costs 20 euros for the screen protector ๐
Duh
holy, that is expensive
It ain't cheap
Tbh I only play on handheld so I don't have the risk of getting mine scratched by dock
Not to mention my dad told me "I don't need a screen protector, the console is meant to be used." ๐คทโโ๏ธ
I avoid touch screen games too
I still highly recommend a screen protector though. An accidental drop and you might be done for
it's a cheap solution to an expensive problem
Kind of like car insurance ig? paying seems pointless until you actually have something wrong happen to you
Tbh I don't understand why the touchscreen is an option in the first place.
I love the touchscreen though
even the DS had touchscreens
I don't see why the switch shouldn't
But like I mentioned, I can't get a glass protection screen in my area without it costing me MUCH. The only option is the Nintendo official foil thingie but it isn't recommended too ๐ญ
The foil won't protect shit
Like ye but 90% of the games don't use touchscreen
On DS the whole point was to use the pen and touchscreen
still a nice to have
I don't mind my laptop not having a touchscreen
but I sure as hell wouldn't hate if it did
Tbh I got the Premium Hori foil protector. I ordered it without looking through the internet ๐ช the premium is know for overheating Switch AND pealing off easily so now it's stuck inside my closet
overheating?
I couldn't send it back to the shop as it was ordered under my mom and she was always tired to write her credit card info on a paper to sent the Premium Hori foil with
Ye
Every single Reddit has a mention of the foil causing overheating
The premium one
Apparently the normal Hori one is a lot better
So that was 20 euros down for nothing
๐ญ
Maybe you should go on aliexpress
I didn't want to wait so I used amazon
but for cheaper products like this, it really doesn't matter
Idk if you know but if I order something out of EU, the ppl who work in borders will force open my package to make sure I ain't getting something illegal and even DARE to price me for their "job"
The thing is I can't find anywhere on the internet how much I could get it priced
I doubt they'll open a box with two sheets of glass ๐
also, aliexpress doesn't charge for customs
They will, seriously
My classmate from primary school ordered manga and the same happened
Manga is out of paper, cheaper and can't do harm
I placed about a dozen orders, some with tech worth $250+ never got opened
Yet they force opened it and made her pay for their check
maybe it's an EU thing ๐ญ
The thing is it IS EU thing
Only we EU have it
๐
Which is why I'm avoiding ordering out of EU. I won a giveaway from a game and they mentioned some countries price customs for it. I already sent them my address so I'm playing with the fire, risking having to pay customs
And the fact the giveaway is FREE is even making it harder for me to calculate how much I could approximately pay for the thing
The HQ is in Japan, I seriously am playing with fire
lucky you congrats ๐
I don't have any experience ordering from jp...
Praying I ain't the 2% they mentioned ๐ช
only CN and EU
2%?
that's not a lot tbh
I pay 15% import tax
wouldn't that be 2-3 euros max
I don't think a game is THAT expensive
The game mentioned 98% of ppl who won their giveaways in the past didn't pay customs
So I might BE the 2% in the future
The game is global, meaning if most ppl are from America, Canada, China, South Korea or Japan they don't need to pay
๐
Thanks, I will seriously cry if the costoms price me for a free thing
i mean even if you pay, it shouldn't be more than the game itself
think of it as... um... buying it at a discount?!? ๐
I won merch basically
๐ฅโค๏ธ i love buying papers on discount
Including a keychain ofc
This will be really boring and not worth of a giveaway but I got a postcard of my fav character, stickers, some shit for taking aesthetic pics, an envelope and keychain
With a letter from my favorite characzer ofc
Going to frame that shit
Nintendo charges taxes on anything you order with Platinum Points to a US address. It just shows up magically. That isn't nearly as bad as what other people deal with.
Ye, I still don't understand how they are just USED to it. I heard there exist people who calculate on how much you need to pay for your living cuz taxes aren't included
If you pay too low, you are in trouble. If you pay too much, the government will take it as a donation
๐ญ
That's why US citizen file their taxes ever year. The government keeps everything you unless you can prove otherwise, and lots of times you own the government extra.
At least, they don't "claw back" money. If the government overpays you for say a disability, they used to be able to take the money back even though the government decided you needed it at the time. bleh
My country is greedy too except we have taxes immediately in prices. My cousin's flat got flooded (her neighbor above her had the flood) and my country wants to pay her 4000 euros for the damage ๐ like girlie needs to paint the roof (as water was coming from there and needs to hide it) AND buy new floor
4000 euros ain't enough, she could pay prob with 1500 euros the paint job and floor is expensive
We have to pay sales tax of most things in the USA. Some places don't tax food.
Not to mention her furniture got damaged too. If you have wooden closet, yikes
I can see the mold creating
it's crazy that your cousin was supposed to pay for the dammage. that makes no sense.
most housing in the US is owned by private individuals, so the laws are quite different when it comes to landlords and tennants.
In my country we call DPH as taxes
๐คทโโ๏ธ
In here housing is owned by the city technically. Every 2-3 flats have 1 landlord and our city pays the landlord monthly to take care of the flats
It's the landlord's choice if they just spend the money on improving the flat or use it on themselves
We use flats because of Soviet Union in the past. Soviet Union wanted to house every citizen so they built flats
Flats have 4-10 floors
that's interesting. people get money from the government to help pay for their rent. Or, they live in state run housing projects which are pretty bad.
yeah, I've seen Soviet/communist flats
they're pretty basic usually
the party bosses got some awesome housing
Tbh it ain't bad, the only disadvantages are thin walls. Most of the time during the weekend someone decides to build something in the morning and we hear it ๐ญ
Yes, only colors kind of divide them
Pink and red, yellow and orange are the most popular colors for flat
But mine has light dirty red and brown
Something like this
My mom called it "poop" brown
๐ญ๐ญ
we could use the affordable housing in the US. there are plenty of places to live but most of them are super luxury
I have heard the prices are getting higher for buying a house
Here in Slovakia they are surprisingly getting lower since Covid
And it continues
at least, the colors aren't garish. The brown is almost a wood tone.
The brown is more lighter on sun but ye
It's meant to give off modern vibe
White and gray is too avarage and gets easily dirty
My mom watches a TV show where ppl compete and renovate beach houses. Couples compete against other couples and one lesbian couple went for all pink. Don't get me wrong, I support lesbian Couples but all pink? Even the bathroom was pink
And most importantly, also the toilet
Like alr pink ain't bad but it's better to combine colors
I like pink, but the WHOLE house??
exactly... use some dark red or purple or something
I love how there are also gay couples and lesbian couples included with straight couples :)
It's just sweet
It also gives you a look on how other couples see their best beach houses
You don"/ need to support gays and lesbians, but it's nice to see how other ppl think yk
that looks good.
no worries
But this is definitely it
I love Last Week Tonight, but I know that is political
do you have netflix? there's a neat show called Love on the Spectrum.
Idk if you know about Discovery Channel but it's British TV channel. They have interesting TV shows (they fix old cars and sell them for collectors, there is a series on "How it's done" which shows how computers are created in factories etc.)
Omg I know the show!!
They call it How It's Made in the US, but I love Discovery Channel.
have you seen the US and Aussie versions?
I watched 2 episodes of it :) it was nice. I'm glad it isn't staged as most TV shows are
At least it shouldn't be from what I read
