Way to record long gameplay

Hey uhm, how can I record my long hours of gameplay? I’m also planning to stream and record my switch although I do not know how, I’ve tried looking up on youtube but they don’t seem very clear to me. Any help?🧐

My laptop is pretty bad although will that affect the graphics of the switch in the recording?

You need one of these, a video capture card. You will connect the HDMI to that and then to your pc/laptop and download the OBS program.
