#Cannot download Crunchyroll because I bought games using an "illegal" method.

I was only convinced to buy a switch when I saw many accounts on Instagram selling digital games at a much much lower price than in regular stores. Almost every game I have on it has come from one of those.

What they do is that they provide an account for you to log into and download the games from. I give them a code I got from the account settings in my Switch and then enter that account and re-download the games I bought from the eShop.

The account they provided had Crunchyroll in it but I didn't think of downloading that as well because it's free. I just downloaded the games.

They told me that I can't enter the eShop or play with that account, or deleting the games or else I will lose access to the games. I haven't done so and the games still work fine. This was about 5 months ago.

One day I tried to download Crunchyroll but I enter my own eShop and the option to buy is greyed out because it says another account on my console already has the app.

I didn't know what to do in this situation because I may lose all my games if I try to enter that account's eShop. (I'm not sure how it works but I don't think the account would still have the same password as before, so more risk I suppose).

Please let me know if you know of any workaround, I already tried getting the Crunchyroll app using the Nintendo Switch website on my own account, that gave me the same error. I also tried using a new account without association to the console but it said it needs to be associated to a console.

I know of a workaround but I can't do it by myself and I don't know if anyone here would be willing to help me do it.

The workaround I know is registering any account that already has Crunchyroll in it into my Switch. That would allow me to redownload it and then I can delete the account and it would still work because another one already has it (I did this for Smash Ultimate because I hadn't downloaded it in that purchased account).

I got it by creating a new profile, and trying to associate an existing account to it by selecting login by using a smart device, but using that code instead of the QR

I see. This is a classic trick.

What they do is essentially take part of the creating new account process. They gained access to the account briefly.

During that time, they can use various methods to buy cheaper games, including using stolen credit cards.

And then you get to enjoy that account with its games. If you trigger eShop check, it may flag the account as bad and ban it.

The problem you are having is that account was registered as the first owner of the Crunchyroll app, any other account can only use the app after it was downloaded via that account.

I wanted to know if there is any way of installing the app anyway. I could probably sacrifice that account but I have two like that and I don't know if both of them have it
