Can I alternate between primary console?

My brother buys the games on his switch account and therefore his switch console is set as secondary so that I can use my switch with my own account as primary(with his account added on my switch). What I’m wondering is if I was to buy another switch, could I switch between which of the two consoles I have set as primary console?

You can change primary console but only once a year I believe. There’s a page on Nintendo’s website where you can do it.

Thanks for the response but I think I read somewhere not too long that the once a year thing only applies to changing it through the website

As long as they have both the switches in hand they may register and unregister as many times as they would like or so i think since i have never tried unregestering my switch so many times

if the switch is not in your hands the way to unregister is through the website that may be used ONCE in a YEAR

You are absolutely correct. The method through the website is only for when the user has no access to the current Primary Switch. And the one-per-year limit is not that harsh, you can still contact customer support and ask them to do it for you.

In the case of you having access to the primary Switch, simply go to the eShop settings menu (under your avatar pic) and Deregister primary console from there.

The next Switch console that account login, will become that account's new Primary Switch.
