Alright, after playing this game for a week, I'd say it was a fun time but absolutely no way in hell worth $60+

badge system seems pointless. Bowser Jr battles were way too easy and generic. Drill mushroom was the only really cool new power up. Being an elephant is fine but not really fun or different. I still have no idea what the point of the bubble flower is lol

I really liked being able to play as Yoshi and wish other characters had unique attributes too. I liked a lot of the level gimmicks and they kept it pretty fresh, which is another reason I'm let down with the boss battles being so bland.

And I wish the music was better 😕 Only music that really stood out to me was the underground wonder music or whichever music plays when ya turn into the blob enemy.

I beat the main story- I really did like the game, and I'd give it a solid 7/10. It was definitely a breath of fresh air from the NSMB formula. I loved the different Wonder Effects, and how they were rarely reused. The music is great as always- and Kevin Afghani as Mario sounds almost exactly like Charles, so that's a win.

But at the same time it had a lot of unused potential; I was actually really confident that (spoilers) ||Prince Florian was going to turn on us like Marx or Magolor,|| but that didn't happen and I can't say I wasn't disappointed, as that would've been really cool to see

||The boss fights could have been a lot better||

I’m the dissenting voice who doesn’t like it. I think the physics feel bad, and it’s just not enjoyable to play. I find myself wanting to just get through the levels, and I never replay if I don’t have to. I think sometimes the level design dictates quickly moving through the level with the expectation that you’ll replay to do addition things. I’d rather explore at my own pace. It’s a good game with lots of nice visuals and music, but I think it’s just not for me.

(For reference, I played about 4 to 5 hours and got to the early stages of world 4.)

Aside from the side scroller levels which are always annoying, I don’t see how any of the levels force you through them quickly, but if you only played about an hour per world you are definitely rushing.

Nope. Just asynchronous leaderboards. They offer good variety and spin to microgames if you exhausted them but for real Get it together is a hidden party gem - there are insanely fun party modes. Only way to do online is via parsec..

I dont think I spent that much, def the hardest part for me was the spring jump

after maybe 15-20 goes, I could do jet run, mid-air twirl and grapple vine pretty fast without deaths

I could also do the crouch jump one while holding down the entire time and just pressing b and r

Spring jump is really hard I can understand, since trying to place standees there is nearly impossible, and you also have to nail the timing on the jumps really well.

it only works when you’re on solid ground which is rarely at all in that

the standees are better used for revives if you fall to your death (assuming someone else has placed one other than you)

I often place multiple of them in short succession to make sure they’re as close to the edge as possible, since every second counts… especially with the balloon part where you can’t actually float the whole way back if you get too far out

Yeah. You’re best bet for MM2 online versus or co-op is by asking around on Discord and the like. The connection for MM2 has to be excellent for it to be playable online; anything less and people are not likely to tolerate and continue playing the game that way. So generally no one really tries to play MM2 with the in-game matchmaking system

How do I escape from a grab in Mario maker 2 mulplayer? Sometimes I’m grabbed as soon as the level starts and mashing the buttons does nothing. I’m just instantly at the mercy of someone else.

No, in the Mario World theme and all castle themes only 1 person can hit the goal

This is getting too hard. It’s becoming essentially you make one mistake early on and are ever so slightly off with your jump to wear you feel like it should have counted as jumping on the enemy but you actually die, you might as well just give up as you aren’t winning unless you play flawlessly.

I like Super Mario Party because of diversity of games and motion controlled ones as well as modes. When you have NSO+EP you can play Mario Party 3 which is awesome and includes lot of games that are in Superstars.

Super has more characters and more diverse modes but also has mandatory motion controls in some games and only supports joycons. Superstars lets you save the game and features "best" minigames from old entries. I think some of them are boring and some minigames from Super are just awesome and showcase joycons features better than 1-2 Switch
