i feel like im decently into the game, did about 40 shrines, but still wearing the starting equipment lol

i did upgrade it twice at the fairy place but its kinda weak and doesnt have heat or cold resistance

i just spoke about not having armors, and without going out of my way to get them, i got some lol

i found the female cosplay to enter garudo, then gave Isha 10 flints and she gave me a sapphire circlet, killed some tier IV guardian and get an armor with +climb speed

my armor inventory doubled lol

the hardest part after collecting ~50 shrines isnt completing shrines or getting to shrines, but its finding them on the map in the first place lol

Not to be mean, but I don't really understand your struggle. Firstly, you would've gotten cold resistant boots on the great sky island. Secondly, you can just keep teleporting between somewhere to sleep (example: lookout landing) and the dungeon to regain your health. Plus, by the time you get to the colder part of the ascension, it's a great chance that more cold resistant gear will be in stock at lookout landing. Additionally, if you need money, get mineru early( https://youtu.be/_aWa6N6ywpg?si=zetlUP-lJfYIDnH2 ) and do the duplication glitch with diamonds ( https://youtube.com/shorts/bcZYNjBYH7g?si=cl6ITyY7kaltIw5k ) to sell them and get rich.

I mean tbf on their part, its super easy to miss those "boots" on the sky island. Teleporting just to sleep is very inconvenient with low health. Might as well just make a lot of food, esp ones with cold resistance. Also getting the gear is a bit annoying with not enough rupees, and the fact that you sent a tutorial on how to do a dupe glitch proves that 😭😭

It's not overly difficult ofc, but you do have to go out of your way just to resist the cold, esp when you get higher up into the sky

Imma be honest, I wasn't a fan of LA. I played the og and it annoyed me. It felt guide-reliant (skill issue on my part ik) and I dropped it when I had to pay 900 rupees for a bow to kill 2 (non boss) enemies to progress, just to immediately have to pay like 300 rupees for the river part

Just joined this thread to say, Im so disappointed in this Zelda game (Breath of the Wild), my first ever Zelda game, it looks boring as I continue and combat to be specifically is disappointing

Not to mention the story (at least for the beginning) and the progress is… meh

Enemies except for “brown colored” enemies start killing me with first hit at beginning of the game

And when I think about leveling up my health it feels SO SLOW while leaving the character to still act like he’s at old dying man who refuse to run much despite of being “soldier” and die easily

When it comes to buying things, a single f** carrot cost almost half cost single cloth and earning living in this game so far isn’t explained, at least not properly

As owning first Switch (Switch 2) and first Zelda game, I thought this game an adventure story rich game, reminds me of Horizon Zero Dawn abit, paid almost 60 for it and its Switch 2 upgrade, I was so hyped and avoided spoilers at possible but Im now disappointed and glad I didnt risk buying another Zelda game together

I’ve been watching gameplay videos and watching review videos, asking my mates on discord and people in this thread about BOTW and TOTK and still didn’t make a decision for the same reason @hollow karma

The game is meant to be amazing in almost every aspect but I don’t know if it’ll be a game I enjoy. It seems too slow for me, requires a lot of creativity and has so many puzzles (which I don’t usually enjoy). I also don’t know if it’ll be easy for me to play, enjoy and complete.

Saying that, I know that the game is amazing but it’s my taste and experience in gameplay. I still watch a lot of ambiance music with walks in Zelda open world.

I know that I’ll eventually get the game but most likely have the same experience as you did

BotW was more moody imo. TotK was pure fun. BotW felt like the world had really ended, similar to adult link’s time in OoT. TotK felt like a whimsical side story like in Majora’s Mask.

Overall I liked TotK a lot more than BotW because it fixed my one big complaint about BotW: no real dungeons. A game with absolutely no complaints compared to a game with one big complaint.

Going back to BotW and not having all the skydiving is pretty rough, too…feels like you’re missing out on so much thanks to TotK

Dont buy the game, I hesitated to say that when we first talked about this
I dont know Tears of Kingdom game so I cant judge and say whether you should or not buy but DONT buy Breath of Wild if you haven’t, I’m sure now this game has trash combat that devs didn’t put time on to set up well enemies and their power damages to match your level, game has good story, environment and that but since its based on combat to finish the story then DONT BUY the game !!!
