In Stadium 2, and Gen1 & 2, its accuracy is 100, rather than the guaranteed hit. Things that lower accuracy can make it miss or its scripted

My first was Blue. I was like 10 years old or so. Got big into it then and got Silver on release.

I also was a big TCG fan back then when it was all new and such. Loved(still do) the TCG GBC game and pinball as well as the fan-translation of TCG2. That should have released here honestly.
Sadly no other TCG games have released here for consoles handheld or TV based to my knowledge.

Silver was the last one for me though.

I had leaf green and ruby gba eventually and got to the end(elite 4) on green but never beat ruby when I had a SP back then and stopped playing after that as I was in HS.

Im really enjoying playing these again for 3DS. I honestly REALLY LIKE the 3DS games so far.

I want to get the DS games and Leaf Green, and some GB/GBC games back again but like hell I'll ever pay what people want currently for a GB/GBC/GBA game. $70-$100+ is just insane to me.

When I was a kid I had a big collection of cards etc I just gave away.

I dont like how in brilliant diamond your whole team gains exp after a battle...pretty ridiculous.
The system was perfect as it was imho as working on each one is most realistic etc as anything not participating in an activity/action etc isnt gonna gain anything naturally while whatever does participate in turn will.
Its common sense/reason etc.

Im glad I finally just got a modchipped Switch so I can disable that when playing SPearl. I read theres a code you can use to do so.

Sadly I also learned they are keeping it like that for the others...but im still looking forward to Sword, and Scarlet, as well as Legends: Acreus.

I got the Yellow Remake with Eevee on the way now but I want the pikachu ver most obviously. Also would like that funky pokeball controller but you cant get em anymore it seems.

It makes the grinding alot easier for people. It does take away the effort, but takes the focus on team building rather than spend time leveling up. Especially when there are tons of pokemon now.

Yeah, I much prefer not having monsters getting into the wont obey territory and or not being used much simply due to it getting overleveled from being part of/in your party/team.

Theres no reason they couldn't have honestly kept it optional as thats the best compromise... I mean they had it implimented perfect for 3 straight sets of 3DS games.
They(GF) HAD TO KNOW not forcing it onto people was the most reasonable and sensible approach as well, as it obviously didnt force people to have to juggle a ton more etc if it was personally unwanted/unbeneficial.

But for some asinine/nonsense reasoning(s) they made it a perma aspect. :sigh:...ah well.

Thankfully it only affects like 4 sets of Switch games Ill be playing, and I am enjoying them all enough...but the whole idea is/has always been to work on building a team and "getting closer" to em while on your adventure.

Its not a "realistic" game series by any means....however having it perma takes away bigtime from any realistic immersion etc as its not possible for things not present in a Battle to get stronger just from being part of said team.

I am still looking forward to Legends ZA Switch though! As well as getting Legends Arceus eventually. Seems like a really fun/good non-mainstream game!

Cuz like from what I remember, a big part of shiny hunting was that you could just wander the whole area and they would be predetermined. So even if you saw the shiny, moved out of view from it, and came back to it (as long as you didn't scare it off), it'd still be shiny

I think the only exception to Pokémon that'd respawn while still in the area were Basculin, as you could scare them off and rest and they'd respawn, but that might just be any skiddish Pokémon

Scarlet's main issue was the framerate and performance, but I didn't get the game until after I had a Switch 2, so I've mostly been enjoying it.

It's not perfect, but it's easy for me to get lost in the gameplay loop

Arceus has good gameplay, but only having like 4 available fire pokemon in the entire game, reminds me of pearl/diamond where it was ponyta and nothing else

I mean tbf Arceus adds like 2 more fire types. Besides Cyndaquil, you basically get to choose between Ponyta and Chimchar in the first area, or Magmar and Growlithe in the third area, and ofc you can get Flareon.

I didn't like Legends Arceus because I don't really care about the Pokedex in most games, I don't remember much about Let's Go, Sword and Shield burned me out so hard I nearly gave up on the series, and BD/SP are... fine

I think that's why I like Legends Arceus, because I love trying to complete the pokedex. I won't say it isn't tedious doing, but I do like it in the sense that you sort of get to spend time with each pokemon, and it actually feels like I'm collecting data from pokemon vs like the other pokedexes where you're supposed to just "collect data" from them, but all you do is scan them and bam, if that makes sense?

Also I think SV are good games, but I'll admit that I'm not a fan of the way the games feel is all

my thing is, pokemon games have always been horribly flawed in many aspects. Wether it be an odd map like Ruby with all the water or a bad level curve like gold, or just buggy mess like Red. I really only play it for the catch/collect/battle em gameplay loop. And so a game that doesn't get in my way of that (like Sun and Moon did with its never ending hand holding) too much with a decent sized pokedex is all I need.

Then Gen7 had the Rotom Dex since they wanted to compete with Yokai Watch

That's also why the Z-Ring was a thing, so they could have a plastic doodad that could be used with the game

Gen8 and Gen9 just built off that and gave everyone a Rotom that lived in their phone

So yeah, it's not lazy animation that's to blame, but Yokai Watch

Personally, I'm mixed on this.

On one hand, $20 is a lot for a game with minimal changes.

On the other hand, we're finally getting FR/LG re-released, which is good because they're the best versions of Gen1. The prices for this game on eBay have been sky-high so it's good to see them at a more reasonable price

It mainly comes down to The Pokemon Company pushing Gen1 nostalgia heavily. And it was usually with the same stuff - just Pikachu, Charizard, maybe the other starters, and Eevee to a lesser extent (though that one gets a pass typically because Eevee's one of the better Gen1 Pokemon).

Sometimes, though, you get an out-of-nowhere one that's fine because it's not the same five Pokemon, such as Mega Weepinbell being a thing or Galarian Koffing/Weezing.

There's really not much of a story compared to later games, it's just "become Champion and fight the yakuza." Not really a lot of characters to get attached to. (The anime doesn't count.)

And god, there's so many bugs and glitches in the original games.

I can see the pros and cons to it like in modern Pokemon they streamline the process to get people playing competitively as quickly as possible which is okay I guess but I feel like you learn a lot less about what your Pokemon can and can't do and you build less of a bond with them which is kind of the whole point of Pokemon, the EV grind isn't even that bad in the classic games either specially if you use things like calcium and proteins

I also prefer how in the classic games TM's are limited it really makes you think about your team and what you want out of it

It can be if you want it to, these games have a lot of depth that's completely optional in terms of how you raise your 'mons and what moves you want them to learn

EV's and IV's is just scratching the surface really, there's also egg moves you gain from breeding certain types and a lot of different team strategies

It’s just tally marking, the effort values come to like a grand total of 500 (speaking from an amateur) you can only use so many to work on so choose wisely you wanna spread them out on the stats your gonna care on the most so for example I guess one could do like fighting off a hundred prefect in a certain spot for +1 attack then look up an HP Pokemon which I forget tbh maybe like a pidgey idk then you get a bit bulkier if you keep defeating those.

How I said it isn’t optimal at all but it’s just somewhat of an idea

Speedrunners been on it for a while, at minimum if there were a speed running discord you could join I’m sure there would be proof, but basically, mail glitch. A new glitch, that’s what it involves but maybe needs some frame perfect stuff and certain IV whatever you call it. Long story short you don’t need to pay another 20 bucks to Nintendo to trade yourself

Havnt seen proof of the trade segment, seen plenty of proof of the mail manipulation

But if you need r/s/e for it then I’m wrong but I don’t think they are necessary I think you can glitch in if you wanted for your troubles

Still using mail glitch so far, to start seems lien the same setup. Traded in game Farfetchd and Mr mime, Farfetchd with knock off, Mr mime with recycle, starting the double battle with Farfetchd and Oran berry pokemon, make it weak to eat its berry followed by Farfetchd using knock off on it, switch that pokemon that eat the berry with Mr mime, have Mr mime use recycle ♻️ while Mr mime holds the mail. Setup is done from the battle portion after the battle doesn’t matter if you lose do a sequence with the mail thay I’m not gonna explain any further. You get it from celadon which I havnt done yet trying to hunt shiny diglett/dugtrio, as far as duplicating items I get the gist of it. What you have to do after with getting other Pokemon im not sure yet

It’s any double battle for the dupli glitch so seems pretty flexible and simple enough. I already got those mons ready

Nah you nailed it really, in gen 3 total EV's you can have are 510 (I think, I need to double check) best way I know to farm for HP is Veridian Forest from Caterpie but they're actually quite uncommon, like 40% chance so it can take long, I was doing it last night for Jolteon, not max HP but about 176 as you can survive rock slide from Aerodactyl with the right setup with that so I felt it was worth it but there's no real wrong or right answer to how you raise them, it all depends on what you want

I was hoping it would be the ice or grass version for Jolteon but no luck, doing normal damage to Cubones and Ghastlys so I'm not sure which one I have, need to look into how that move works

In this gen and 4 it can be countered with the move counter regardless of type, and it will never be hidden power normal, attack power is a bit weird it’s not bad though

My Gyrados and Dugtrio got ghost and that’s physical in this game but gonna remove it off my Gyrados something eventually
