Honest it’s hard to decide because both those aspects are paradoxical. Usually new fans are recommended the lets go pikachu/eevee because it’s pokemon on Super weenie hut jr mode

But then again if you dislike the pokemon formula, you will hate those game because they lean hard into the stale formula.

Legends is on the other end of the spectrum with new gameplay and some fun changes. Though being the “best” pokemon game is a pretty low bar, even considering the graphics look like ps2 era

If you like open world rpgs, games like Xenoblade chronicles 3 might be what you want.

I just started playing Violet, and it's surprisingly difficult to put down. It looks like a poorly applied HD texture mod to an old wii game graphically (and runs like it's on the Wii at times), and it's supposed to be a bad game, but it's unexpectedly engaging in a way that at least the previous gen was not after I started really playing the game and got somewhat used to the low mid-tier graphical quality.

it's conventionally atrocious just on a technical base alone, but I kind of like it, personally. At the very least, enjoying it more than I did gen 8 which was dryer than the sahara. A part of this is probably because i'm not playing the launch version, and haven't bore witness to any game-shattering bugs yet.

If you have a Pokemon with a lower level than the rest of your team, having it be in your party while you battle will help it level up pretty quick.
Even if it's at a comparatively low level, Grit Dust and the like will raise its stats significantly, so be sure to collect as much of those as you can (often by catching and releasing other Pokemon)

When I first played Arceus I chose one Pokemon from each of the areas to keep on my team, and it wasn't too hard to get the later ones up to match the earlier ones' levels

So far I just try to have different type pokemons on my team and if I have 2 grass I pick the one I like more from the looks lol

I caught alpha Scyther lvl 42 but my party is around lvl 19. But he died so easy in that keavor? Fight

So I was wondering if lvl even matters

And do I have to release the pokemons that I caught and not use on my team? Just not sure how to handle the lvls and when to swap someone out from the party

Honestly sometimes type matters more than level. It helps that Scyther is Bug/Flying, 4x weak to Kleavor's Rock type moves. You don't have to release them if they're not on your team, but if you do they'll leave behind Grit items

Sometimes it's just best to play by feel, do whatever works best without worrying too much about strategy

Other than that I am playing without any guide. Last pokemon game I have played was back on ndsi with heartgold many many years ago

You can look on the internet if you like, I just meant when I played I didn't think too much about who was on my team aside from having different types and who looked cool, and I didn't have to worry too much about level training

Honestly that's another play-by-feel thing for me, if it feels strong or rare I just use a better ball off the bat. If you're diligent about resource gathering, you'll have enough Great and Ultra Balls to get you through.

One thing I discovered after a while is, if the ball only "bounces" once before catching, it was a guaranteed capture and I could've used a weaker ball (helps for catching the same mon in the future). If it "bounces" all three times before catching, there was still a chance it could've escaped.

Just started streaming Brilliant Diamond today after beating Pokemon Arceus. Anything that would be good to know (eg. in Arceus it was not collecting the wisps till the very end to make it easier..)
Here it's enough to just collect all pokemon as a 1 off? How does shiny hunting work ? How do I know if a pokemon is strong or not since this is more battle focused?

For shiny hunting, note that the shiny charm only works on eggs, not on wild mons

Make sure to do a fair bit of grinding throughout the game, even if you're leveled high enough for the gyms. The step-up from gym 8 to the Elite Four is rather big

Playing Pokemon Shield on my new Zelda Switch Lite

Yeah, the endgame is basically just the Elite Four and the final battle against the Champion, though there's a postgame where you can go to a new area from the Snowpoint City harbor.

The Grand Underground is basically there for multiplayer, since it's a remake of a DS-era game where wireless communication was a huge thing. The idea is that you can dig for treasure there, including Fossil Pokemon.

Also, you can unlock new content by seeing every Pokemon in the Pokedex at least once. Once you do, it'll be upgraded to the National Pokedex, which has info for all Gen1-4 Pokemon, and if I remember right, you'll unlock some new areas.

For Gen 4 (DPPt/HGSS), you need two DSes or a DS and 3DS, to transfer from Gen 4 to Gen 5. For Gen 5 (BWB2W2), you can use the Poke Transfer tool on the 3DS to take them from the cartridge directly to Bank, but you can only do a whole box at a time, unlike with Gen 6 and 7
