I wonder if it was made for the Switch 2 originally (after its very extended production) because when SMTV went live the first thing they did was patch a bunch of its graphics down a notch to make the game perform smoother. So within it is certainly the potential to look prettier

Interesting to see they are going to pull SMTV and all its DLC from the store before the new version launches.
I can 100% see why they'd do that, but its a shame they don't set the DLC for free or heavy discount first and then delist. Esp since I don't think they are giving any discounts for existing owners when they get the new game; so that's going to be a big cost to get any dlc stuff and such.

I just wish/hope that there was some loyalty discount on the new version, but I know other console style games like Dynasty Warriors also do that "here's a newer better version of the core game at full price again with more stuff" trick without any loyalty discount.
plus at least they are adding a lot of new content to Vengeance so playing through the new storyline will be like a full new game anyway
It does also explain why they didn't release many updates or expansions for the first game - I was surprised considering how well it did that they didn't go into releasing more demon expansion packs

Well, the old physical game might go up in value later due to the digital version getting delisted, so maybe we can get some good money back later by selling them.
The new one is definitive, but if someone wants to try the original experience from that point on, then they'll need to pick up a physical copy.
For example, the level scaling change will be quite a significant change.

Very tempted to get it on Steam this time - had good fun on the switch version, but until/if/when a switch 2 comes out it will look mostly the same and the game already pushed the switch too hard on performance. So PC will look all the prettier for the larger screen and smoother framerates and all.

emulating the PSP version is a better experience and you don't need a translation patch
And the translation and experience of the PSP version is way better than PS1 because PS1 had censorship basically

I think the general consensus is PSP version with the English music
PS1 version in English does have a non-localization patch, but it doesn't work on official hardware (problem that really only affects me, but still)
Still holding out for the English patch of the Japanese version of the game, but that probably won't be done for several more years

I think if you change the difficulty to merciless, then weakness and critical damage do 3x more damage overall. So if you striked the robots weakness while on the merciless difficulty you’d do more damage.

I'm so glad they switched over to the press turn system for Metaphor: ReFantazio instead of using "one more" again.
I'm about 8 hours in as well, and it's great so far.
I've also been played Bloomtown, which is basically a Persona game as well, with some incredible battle themes. Persona fans be eating good.

I wish the DLC costumes were more varied in Metaphor: ReFantazio. They're mostly just school uniforms. Maybe there's a character you get later who wears mascot outfits instead of the uniforms, but I would have preferred to have Featherman, Demonicas, and some more interesting SMT V outfits.
I guess we have to wait for Metaphor: ReFantazio Royale with Cheese edition for those.
