Launch switch won’t turn on

Hey there, I had a launch switch that I had let sit for about a year before touching again. It worked just fine when I stored it, but when I went to charge it to take it with me on a flight, it wouldn't charge, and would not turn on while plugged in.

I'm not sure if it's as simple as needing a new battery, or if not turning on while plugged in means it's worse than the battery, but I would love if somebody has any idea what could possibly be wrong with it.

I'm not against opening it up and fixing it that way if that's what's necessary.

Well.. from what i know.. You shouldnt keep it off and unused for a long period of time

with time its battery life will reduce and reduce to almost none till it cannot hold in charge at all
