#Switch stuck at 98%

I’ve seen some people say that it’s normal because it isn’t great for a battery to sit at 100% for a long time but it just started happening recently where it will dip below 100
and again I’m not too worried about it rn because the battery lasts a very long time still but I don’t want it to be an issue in the future
How old is the Switch?
like 6 years I’d say
Might be a good time to contemplate replacing the battery if it’s not charging all the way anymore
Does that involve sending it for a repair
Yes unless you are comfortable working on microelectronics yourself
I’d be a little bit worried about all of my data but I could send it in yeah
I just don’t wanna send it in for something that might not be a huge deal
If it’s in sleep mode it will go to 100%
and if I turn it off then back on it will go to 100%
You will have to send it in eventually as the battery only has a limited lifespan. Maybe not now, but in the future definitely. Might be worth trying to find an independent repair shop.
yea all electronics get old, maybe it could be worth waiting a little bit because as of right now the battery is still lasting a very long time,
and it’s a very recent issue so I don’t wanna jump the gun too fast if nothing is wrong with the performance
could just be the UI displaying it wrong for all I know
and I can still get it to 100% using sleep mode
if that stops working maybe then I repair
I’m just a little worried about my data 🤞 bc I hear all these horror stories about how Nintendo just wipes ur switch if you send them it
@harsh topaz
You can request that they not wipe your data. Also you can use a third party repair service
