#eShop not letting me purchase anything

Hi, is anyone else having problems with buying from the eShop? I used PayPal and both my debit/credit cards. I even went onto the Nintendo Store and that didn't help either. I just want to buy my Scarlet DLC. Some error codes say it may have to do with their services not being available but I don't know. I tried resetting and unlinking and relinking accounts. Nothing. I waited 8 hours and nothing was resolved.

I keep getting error code 2813-0090 which indicates a possible problem on their end. The error code itself doesn't explicitly show up in the Nintendo Support chat when I log in to their support website. The error code doesn't even seem to be reported in the error code report feature in the website either. So basically I keep getting this mysterious error code and there's no info about it.

I also want to add that I even used other people's credit/debit cards and still got the same issue. So I know it's not a thing on my end

Try changing the regional zip code then, this issue happened to a few and that's how they solved it.

#

go to your account's menu page then eShop settings

#

it's hidden deep in the purchase information page

My bad. I read it wrong.

Went on the Nintendo website

Found my account menu

There's no eShop settings only a "Shop Menu" from there the only thing I can change with a zip code is a billing address. There's no "purchase information" option that I see. Sorry if I'm exhibiting boomer energy here.

The correct order is:
Nintendo.com website > Account settings (Under your avatar picture) > Shop menu > Scroll down > Billing Address > Change button

Now do bear with me here, this is only one solution that has worked with some people before, it may not work for you right now.

#

Anything further then we may need to contact Nintendo customer support.

So this was a unique problem that may be relevant to some people so I'll post as to why I was having trouble.

A few years back someone hacked into my account and bought a paychecks worth of V-Bucks. I had to go through so many leaps and hurdles to get that money back and in the process I made it so my account can no longer accept credit cards.

I have forgotten this detail since I've always used PayPal from then on and didn't use my card. That is why none of the cards I've tried worked.

As to why PayPal didn't work, the Customer service rep couldn't figure that out. His theory is that they are having PayPal maintenance or something to that degree going on soon, so it may have affected PayPal services from me.

The card ban and the possible maintenance made an unlucky concoction that prevented me from buying anything.

Hopefully this helps someone who may have a similar issue.

Interesting, such info is indeed valuable for other people with similar cases.

Nintendo has some unfair solutions for stolen account/payment scam cases, due to them wanting to avoid refunding abuse.

Their policies ended up hurting customers more than being beneficial.
