Hello, I'm a student that moved in my own appartment and so I do not have access to a box, only to mobile data that I can share from my phone to every other device that requires internet, which includes the Nintendo Switch.
Phone is a Samsung Galaxy A23 5G.

The problem is, I have 0 issue with connecting my Switch to my mobile hotspot, however, when I change the frequency band to 5Ghz instead of 2.4Ghz (Because my connection is really bad, and I aldo try to get free'd from the F type of NAT ) The switch litteraly doesn't detect the Mobile Hotspot anymore and thus I am left with no internet connection. I tried several times resetting/deleting the settings and turning on / off both of the devices with no avail.

I would like to know if there is a solution to this.

Hello there, i've also had a problem like this. funny enough, i just fixed it. You use mobile hotspot, right? if yes, the first thing i suggest you to do is check your blacklist, that was how i fixed my problem, if not try modifying the DNS Settings (Instead of automatic set it to manual and input 1.1.1.1), If that stll does not work try putting your switch closer to the device, if this problem is still not fixed, you could look up some youtube tutorials, if nothing you find works, it could be an issue with your switch, which then you would be able to file a warranty claim on your switch (i am not very good with law stuff so do not take every word i say as the best advice)

One extra note is connecting the Switch to hotspot is a very annoying process. It often doesn't work properly.

With a normal router, you can remedy this somewhat by configuring the router's settings but there is no such solution for mobile hotspot (unless router hotspot)

#

its just a waste of time

#

its frequency and data quality jumps time to time and then the connection sucks

#

so get wifi if possible

#

and put it on as near as possible to your switch

#

for it to catch onto it

#

or use a router to further the range

#

and you can connect your dock with wired connection aswell
