JOY-CON LOCK REPLACEMENT
§ The Joy-con is attached to the Switch's rail via a locking mechanism, often called locks.
• Due to the modular nature of the Joy-con, it's normal to have a degree of "play" movement on the rail, even when they are brand new.
• Since the locks are made of plastic, they will wear out through usage, leading to even looser attachment and even unintended disconnection. You can replace the locks by yourself or through a repair service.

※ Note: This might fall into the free Joy-con repair. Ask Nintendo's customer support for confirmation.
• Using a thin piece of paper/cardboard between the rails can force a stiffer attachment, but it might lead to faster wear on the locks.
• You can reduce the wear of the locks by pressing the lock button on the Joy-con deeply every time you pull it out as well as when you slide it on.
■ DIY Repair
There are 2 options to choose from: Plastic locks similar to the original ones or metal locks that are more durable.

They ain't gonna repair this for free, I'm afraid. Since the free repair is for joystick drifting only, do you happen to have that?
You can piggyback on that repair
I got Nintendo to repair my joy con sliding off for free
It applied to that too
Yeah, sometime you can talk them into doing it. But they are getting stricter now that the free repair program has been in public eyes.
Oh mine was done back in like 2019
Maybe it changed now
Slightly, yeah
It's used to be hidden in EU region as well, and now that is also public knowledge now.
No but, is it possible they can just REPLACE my joycons for free?
I have no idea if Nintendo actually fix the joy cons you send them or give you new ones instead
Too many people asked for this, simply because they don't want Nintendo just to repair their issue but give them a brand new product.
I'll explain to you why there's such a thing.
At Nintendo's repair facilities, they are allowed to speed up the repair process by simply sending back a different joycon.
This joycon can be a refurbished joycon, not new, just repaired, and sometime they are new.
It's not a guaranteed thing, they only do it if they think it'd be faster and easier for them to do so.
So you can't really expect to get a new joycon bac every time you send yours to repair.
So that means that they will replace my joycons for free if u just send them in? Or they can fix my sliding off problem and send it back right?
In supported regions, yes, you get free replacements as long as it's a genuine issue. But as Big stated, you might get refurbished joycons too, there's no guarantee that it would be a brand new set of Joy-Cons
Yes, it's a "maybe" like I said.
They decide this by themselves, so we don't know when they will do it.
Oh okay.
What is considered a genuine issue? My only issue is that the joycons are sliding off. Nothing else.
Let's just say your issue can take 5 mins to break fix, so it's on the lower end of chance to get replace.
Like I said earlier, they replace to speed up the return process. So I reckon it applied to hard to fix issue that takes too much time.
yeah I think if you don't, it won't let you, unless you've done it by accident multiple times. :/
If you know someone you chill with that can do it. Maybe reach out to them and talk into it. Nowadays it's a lot harder to get things done for free.
