#Switch cannot read certain Screenshot/Videos on SD Card

I was transferring stuff from a 128GB to a 1000GB card via Card Reader connected to my PC. Not just that, but also transferring screenshots and videos from Switch 1 to Switch 2.

However in doing so, Switch 2 cannot read any of the files and had to delete all data except for the album, which is fine since it was all on cloud. However, Switch 2 still could not read the album from Switch 1.

So, I put the card back into Switch 1, and now somehow Switch 1 can only read screenshots & videos from 2 out of the several games I've played. I checked on my PC and everything in the album folder is still there, uncorrupted, still viewable and watchable from my PC, but neither Switches can see most or all of them. Is there a way I can repair those files by renaming some things?

They're not showing up because the the file names are tied to the encryption key of said game. On Switch 1, I only have 2 downloaded games; the rest of the save data was exported. That's why they won't show! And on Switch 2, I only have 1 new game, thus why absolutely nothing is showing

So if I'm correct, on Switch 2, if I redownload all the data for the games and open them, then that should relink the encryption keys and they should show up

Before I mark this as solved though I should test it out...

OH GOOD the first game I decide to redownload will take approx 89 hours to download!

After doing some tests... I did confirm that the encryption keys are identical...

Yet still they won't show up

So now I'm wondering if it has to do with the date which it was taken...?

If I reclock Switch 2 to 2020 if it'll recognize the earliest of screenshots/videos and update them all...

I don't think it's as simple as moving all my files to 2023 > 07 either...

I've copied the Album folder onto my PC... I'm gonna try deleting the SD card album folder and make my Switch create a new one itself. Then instead of copying the entire Album folder from PC to SD, I'll go into the PC Album folder itself and move them from there. Apparently others have had this issue where the Album folder itself has a device key encrypted in it... If I don't copy the album folder as a whole, the created album folder will keep its key and I'll see everything...

I don't understand... the only thing that is visible now is the single screenshot that made the new album folder

Maybe all the folders are encrypted and I have to copy the jpg/mp4 files seperately?

Yep... I tried deleting and replacing the album folder... Now it's at 0 screenshots and videos... Idk man

You could have just made use of your Switch Transfer to Another Console Tool in Settings; can also back-up photos and videos to your PC through a USB Cable

As for the games, format the SD Card and download them again if they don't appear, ig

All the games are fine, the screenshots and videos are the issue. Switch 1 is clean now so now I just need to get them from my PC back to Switch 2 which seems to be impossible

Managing pictures and videos on an apple device is easier than this, and that's saying something lol.
