Hello guys
my cat chewed my nintendo switch original charger and its required to plug it on the dock, i have 3 wires, black white and blue
original usb male is destroyed and missing on combat (cat must know)
i searched a lot on gbatemp, google, no answers found
someone can guide me on how to determine the pinout of this stuff
i have some usb c males from mobile chargers but without the pinout scheme i cant solder them to the switch charger

best i can find is A5,A6,A7 are shorted and connected to white wire (not really sure of this aswell)
but i still need to know where to connect the black and blue wires
maybe i can just solder the dock female board to the cables? im okay with this solution aswell if someone points me how to do it
i just want to use my dock again lol
btw i gift orange cat shipping costs not included
i ordered this shit on aliexpress, can someone trace the points please i dont want to spend too much fixing this shit lol
Black - GND
White - VBUS
Blue - A5
Im not sure if someone can confirm this info could be useful
@karmic mirage Welp, I missed this post, was taking some time off
There are quite a lot of resources for this, idk if you have found them

USB Type C Plug Breakout board, for testing the USB-C port on the Nintendo Switch. Allows testing of all USB-C pins, if they are right soldering on the logic board. I tested a port today and I am very satisfied with the product.
After replacing a port, it was very easy to check if all the pins...
yeah but this doesnt really solves my real question
how i can replace the usb male provided by nintendo? all the usb-c cables ive checked at home are 4 wires, 2 for data and 2 for voltage, i guess i need an advanced usb port like this one
i ordered this one but i still have the question on wich lines are the required for my wall ac adaptor
it has 3 wires
black that is suppossed to be the ground cable
blue that seems to have voltage
white that seems to determine 5v/15v mode
Black - GND
White - ??
Blue - ??
I found this one too, maybe the ID line corresponds with the white cable on the wall plug?
so the blue cable on the wall plug must be the VCC line
note that not every usb c male board DIY has this ID line, as this one seems to be "fast charge 65w"
enough for switch dock requirements i guess
i dont care ordering this one too if someone can confirm this should work, i can use the tester aswell with all the cables of the wall plug if required aswell
from my tests blue/black gives the default 5v of a usb charger but i dont know how to test the 15v
tried some cables but 5v is the best i got, maybe needs a device asking for them
i think the thiner one of the 3 is the CC line
which most C to C cables should have
thinner wire on A5/B5 (white since you say blue is 5V)
thats for OTG
for testing 15V you need a trigger board.
Yeah i was chopping old usb-c to usb a cables
They just have 2 lines for data, gnd and voltage
Ill wait for that port arriving
So blue must be vbus cable?
What about GND why is it on both sides, i need to solder GND to both lines to make sure it works both sides?
Black - GND
White - A5/B5
Blue - vbus
Im completely useless with electricity stuff, i just know micro-soldering
Sorry for being this dumb lol
No i dont think so. the board should just bridge everything
those dont have (usually) blue CC wire
if its thicker and there should be 2
atleast thats what i saw online
its weird
seems eur and usa wall plugs are built different
what wires do you have
the eur one just have 3 wires, the usa one has 2 red, 2 black and a white
eur has white blue and black
nah mines european
are the blue/black thicker?
nope man they seem to be the same section
i mean it should cross over to the USA one where you have white as CC
if they give the voltage, then those are the power wires
oh yeah i already checked that
i noticed that
blue black gives the usual 5v
so its those 2 for power
yeah and white to determine the 15v/5v
just needed to know where to solder them on the chinese usb port i ordered
ok. hope youll fix your thing
yeah ill bring updates tysm man ❤️
