guys I need some real help here. I noticed that my switch back panel makes a very very very very smol click (still hearable) when pressed on. I researched about it and it seems to be called "warping" I think, like it doesn't look like it's warped in fact it's quite flat but just makes that sound. It is on the left very top (not middle) corner beside the volume. I searched for it and it just seems to be a manufacturing thing and that I shouldn't be worried. But I asked people myself and they said it might be the battery which got me scared. from what I understand if the battery is swollen it should be from the middle (and it's from the top) and the click is VERY small. and it should also be affecting the screen and I'm seeing none of that. the switch runs perfectly fine. it charges and no problems (no overheating etc.)
#Nintendo switch possibly "warping"

if somebody can srsly help me as I'm scared if the battery is swollen (which I hope it's not)
If it was actually swollen due to a spicy pillow, you'd see the back plate trying to come away and not be flush. It's common for plastics to have defects or even just make odd clicks and creaks due to age and use.
There's spots on my Switch that make noise if I press on them too. Of course you could always open the Switch up and just look at the battery if you're really paranoid about the battery.
it's right beside the volume button
I checked on reddit and stuff and it says it's a manufacturing thing and it's normal
the panel doesn't seem to be going up
or anything as you said
It might be the battery
Cuz the top of the plastic is bulging you can see that mine if flat everywhere
Just the middle is bulged on mine
And the battery is located on the left side
Couldn't it just be the plastic
Fine
I will check Amazon ik they send batteries with the screw drivers
Mine is v2
Hac-001
Honestly I don't spot a difference from yours
Idk
Might just go to a local shop and get it checked up
You can't check if battery is just slightly swollen by looking from the outside. You need to open it up to see, since some mild swollen case doesn't show that well. If it has swollen much bigger then it'd be more obvious (bulge on the right side).
Your case seems to be a screw is loosen and make the backplate not entirely aligned, hence you can "click" it like that.
I don't have the screw drivers to do it
Would you say it's fine to continue using it normally and if I notice actual swelling to actually get it replaced
Because I'm sure if it was swelling it wouldn't go down with a slight click but would instead feel some sort of force
Correct me if I'm wrong
Hahah that's a good logical thinking. Yes, I do agree.
You can look at the screws around the backplate.
Some of them might not be as tight
If you don't have the screwdriver for it, you can keep using it for a while, no harm done.
however, screws have been loosen will keep untightening themselves more.
It's better if you find a solution soon
A cheap smartphone repair screwdriver kit with Tri-point Y00 screwdriver can do the trick
Or you can ask someone who has it
But be careful, the screws on the Switch is very fragile, don't strip them
Np, good luck
btw, not entirely related but all Switch's "tablet" is uneven, not because of any swelling, it's just like that...
I heard that it was normal and just like that with design but I really needed to make sure
I'd say quality control standard is low. But it doesn't affect anything.
I got this switch off a friend 3 weeks ago and this is kinda my first Nintendo console so yea bit of a noobie here
Haha no worries, if anything this is the place for you to familiarize with it. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.
Thanks man really appreciate it
lol you're the guy that helped me a year ago
Haha wassup
Not much haven't changed eh?
Darn it, time to make a new avatar
Not much
It's still the same for me with my switch never got worse it was prolly just the plastic
Have you tried totk?
Busy no-lifing Diablo 4 x)
I'll get to it eventually
Nice
@static plazaok I believe it is the battery
i tried to move my hand across the right side which is flat and did the same with the left side
there is a very slight bump
i don't have the tools at the moment
i might buy this as it comes with the tools and the spare battery
is this a good pick or do you have a better one?
nvm
i can't tell anything anymore
I will just continue using it and if further swelling occurs i will def notice it
I suggest to open it up first to see
