If cleaning didn't work, or you can't repair it yourself, then the last option is sending it to a professional service

peak flicker
#

alright thanks

#

sorry for being rude/sarcastic

#

ive had the problem for prob 2 years+ now so its just annoyin

clear bane
#

The rail on the joycon tend to break on its own. I guess it's because the rail is connecting to the motherboard of the joycon via a flimsy ribbon cable.

peak flicker
#

the thing is on top of the disconnecting

#

its also loose to the point where you can push it out instead of using the black pin thing

#

it doesnt fall out but you can push it out

clear bane
#

And it might be the reason why it's not connecting but just might

lock

JOY-CON LOCK REPLACEMENT

§ The Joy-con is attached to the Switch's rail via a locking mechanism, often called locks.

• Due to the modular nature of the Joy-con, it's normal to have a degree of "play" movement on the rail, even when they are brand new.
• Since the locks are made of plastic, they will wear out through usage, leading to even looser attachment and even unintended disconnection. You can replace the locks by yourself or through a repair service.

[👉 Click here for Repair Service Guide](#986637761916317707 message)
※ Note: This might fall into the free Joy-con repair. Ask Nintendo's customer support for confirmation.

• Using a thin piece of paper/cardboard between the rails can force a stiffer attachment, but it might lead to faster wear on the locks.
• You can reduce the wear of the locks by pressing the lock button on the Joy-con deeply every time you pull it out as well as when you slide it on.

■ DIY Repair
There are 2 options to choose from: Plastic locks similar to the original ones or metal locks that are more durable.

#

Yeah, you will understand why after reading the tag

#

because it wears away every time you take out/put in the joycon

#

wait a min

#

I lost my pic o.o

peak flicker
#

Im not from the us..

#

those amazon listings cant work

clear bane
#

Ah no worries, you can buy these anywhere

#

They are made in China

#

Like most of the stuffs nowadays

peak flicker
#

oh cool

clear bane
#

But... if you are willing and able to repair these

#

then you can do both things, replace the rail's connector and the locks

peak flicker
#

oh wait when i click on it it just takes me to amazon uk anyways

clear bane
#

0_o that's new, it can do that?

peak flicker
clear bane
#

I guess so

peak flicker
#

it automatically makes it so it ships to uk and is on the uk website but i think the actual product is from the us still

clear bane
#

If you want to repair it, you already have the links to the guides

#

but be careful, I can only suggest doing so if you have some experience operating on small electronics

#

and these things are quite fragile, especially the screws >.>

peak flicker
#

a sketchy repair shop would be better at this then me and still get it done

#

lol

clear bane
#

Alright, then I suggest sending it to repair

#

I can help with finding a good one

#

You are in the UK, right?

peak flicker
#

Nah im not sending any crap through shipping

#

shit will take months to return

clear bane
#

depends, I know a guy in UK that's really good with repair Switch

peak flicker
#

my best bet is probably to find a repair shop near me but theres not many

peak flicker
clear bane
#

Hmm

#

Alright, I'll give you all the options

HARDWARE REPAIR INFORMATION

Please click on the links below to read more about hardware repair options.

[👉 Nintendo Repair Service](#986637761916317707 message)
Nintendo offers their own repair service for free within warranty period and with cost when warranty has expired. Joycon's repair are often free, regardless of warranty. Their service is often more reliable, with original replacement parts, but is more expensive.

[👉 Independent Repair Service](#986637761916317707 message)
A local, independent repair service may offer faster return time, cheaper and doesn't need warranty nor official support. Although finding a good local repair service needs some effort.

[👉 DIY Repair](#986637761916317707 message)
Requires skills, tools and experience, but DIY repair is always an option.

HOW TO DELETE & RECONNECT CONTROLLER PAIRING

§ This is a method to reset controllers pairing information and can fix various controllers' connection issues. If you do not have a functional right Joy-con, you can use a different controller such as a Pro controller.

※ With the Switch console in handheld mode.
1. Detach/Disconnect all the Joy-Con and controllers from the Nintendo Switch console.
2. From the HOME Menu, select System Settings ⚙️ > Controllers and Sensors > Disconnect Controllers.
3. Hold down the “X” Button on the right Joy-Con until the blue circle is fully illuminated.
4. Attach or connect any Joy-con and controllers you want to pair to the console.

Update the controllers' firmware can fix several issues.

peak flicker
#

ogh just re pair it already?

#

simple nuf

clear bane
#

Most of the time it requires after a repair like this

#

but we are not sure yet, just try

peak flicker
#

it works perfectly

#

They gave me a brand new joycon but they gave me my old one back?

clear bane
#

hmm?

peak flicker
#

will the old one be dangerous to use because they said something was wrong with it

clear bane
#

who?

peak flicker
clear bane
#

They just gave you a new joycon? 0_o

peak flicker
#

they charged me but yeah

clear bane
#

so like you technically bought a joycon from them?

peak flicker
#

and a new rail

clear bane
#

eh?

peak flicker
clear bane
#

I dont get it lol, so they also repaired the old ones?

peak flicker
#

i dont know

clear bane
#

Oh well, whatever works

#

how much did they charge though?

peak flicker
clear bane
#

not bad

peak flicker
#

65**

#

LOL

clear bane
#

ffs lol

peak flicker
#

40 for the rail

clear bane
#

geez

peak flicker
#

yeah

clear bane
#

how much for a new joycon in your place?

peak flicker
#

25 for the joycon though so that wasnt bad

#

its a brand new joycon

#

2nd hand rail im p sure

clear bane
#

I'm pretty sure it's not new

peak flicker
#

either that or he just repaired my rail

peak flicker
clear bane
#

repair place often reassemble products from parts, you see

peak flicker
#

ahh ok

clear bane
#

they can take parts from a broken joycon, and reassemble them

peak flicker
#

still works like its brand new tho

clear bane
#

so technically, what you can call those products are "refurbished"

peak flicker
#

i thought it was brand new due to him taking it out of a nintendo joycon box

clear bane
#

Box, can also be taken from anywhere

peak flicker
#

also my fan was fixed

#

so my fan isnt like a ps4 anymore

peak flicker
#

@clear bane turns out after playing all they did was the fan

#

basically got scammed

peak flicker
#

Update: THEY DID NOTHING

#

after a hour or so of using it its ALL THE SAME
