But you also run the risk of affecting new users who aren’t here out of malice (like coming for help and needing to post images of their hardware issues). I don’t think removing perms is the way to go, not to mention I don’t think it’s a simple “remove this perm for all users who joined before X date”. New users could still easily come and spoil via text as well, or in voice chat as they’ve already done, and it’s not like we can just prevent any new users from talking.
My argument is the same as I put in general chat earlier. If spoilers are such a big concern to you, maybe just take a break from this server until the game is out, a few users have done this already. This server is bound to attract trolls given its focus on the Switch.
The mod team has been quick to take action when it happens, and users are fast to report users
