So I haven’t used the switch in like a week. I went to go play it and I pressed the power button and it gave me the dead batter symbol. Like 1/2 an hour later I try to plug it in and it won’t even give me the dead batter symbol anymore. Even when I hit the power button. I tried holding the power button for 15 seconds to reset it. I even let it charge over night and nothing will come one. I use the Nintendo charger but nothing won’t turn on at all

Just to make sure, can you follow all the steps below?
battery
BATTERY ISSUE
§ If you leave the Switch inactive, not charging for a long period of time (1-2 weeks or more), the battery's voltage may drop too low and will refuse to be charged, leading to a "dead" Switch. This can also degrade the battery's life and cause battery % number fluctuate randomly.
👉 Please check Charging/Power guide for best charging practices
■ Solution for dead battery
- Unplug the AC adapter from the wall socket for 30 seconds then plug it back in. This is to reset the AC adapter.
- Plug the AC adapter directly into your Switch, not through the dock.
- Leave it to charge for 6-12 hours.
- Attempt to turn it on by holding the Power button for 15 seconds, then at the 15s mark, release your finger, press down once to turn it on. This is to bypass boot issue.
■ If the above steps didn't work
Your last resort is to replace the battery entirely, via a repair service or DIY.

■ DIY Repair
Replacing the battery is not complicated but still requires tools, skills and patience.
・ iFixit's video tutorial
・ Sosav's written guide
※ Note: Since replacing the battery will ruin the thermal paste of the Switch, you should consider reapplying the paste as well.

You absolutely sure you did all the steps, down to exact timing and sequence order?
Because if you are sure, then there is nothing else we can do from this chat. You have to send it to repair.
it's fine, just longer than 3 hours is enough
Oh yeah it was longer than that
We just took it into an electronic store
They said they couldn’t fix it 🤷🏼♂️
Did they say why?
Eh do they even have experience with Switch console?
There is nothing impossible to fix, tbh. Most of the time it's a concern of cost.
I see
