It does not seem to adjust to anything. Whether I put Switch under direct light or be it in completely dark room it just stays set to whatever it was set previously.

Check the position of the light sensor, it's under the screen

It's very mild though, not that big of a change

Go into a very dark room, then adjust your brightness to maximum
then shine a flashlight onto that sensor

I don't think it will, it would just dim the screen
on the OLED, it will dim the darker portion more
