#Zelda breath of the wild

probably one of the best uses of $60 on the Switch that I've seen
Target had it on sale p recently!
If BotW isn't worth $60 I'm not sure what game is tbh
Please for the love of god, don't put the dollar sign after the value
BOTW is the first Zelda game I ever played and I would say it’s probably my favorite video game ever.
(It also remains the ONLY Zelda game I’ve ever played)
yes
it has a LOT of content
not including dlc
@gentle egret from a quick search it looks like you may have had a negative experience with BotW 😅 I know it's not everyone's cup of tea so I'm not here to convince you otherwise; moreso I think that the gripes you have with the game might be relevant here (since I'm biased and have a hard time speaking to them)
Ah, I misunderstood; I just searched zelda from:sympho since I was curious and it looked like you put it as your least favorite Zelda
To clarify, I didn't think you hated it; I just figured that opinions other than "10/10 my favorite game ever" would be helpful in making the decision ig
yeah tbh even though I would personally still go out and buy it for $60, I think you could probably find a used copy (or find it on sale) for less (~40 like was mentioned)
agreed; and even if you're a physical collector that cares about case condition and such, it's way easier and cheaper to just buy a new case/cover than it is to get a new game
Def worth 60 bucks
I'm pretty sure it was no story driven enough to you lol
and it's a less challenging Zelda entry
My brother gave it an 8.5/10
I'll never like another Zelda game more than OoT
Honestly I'm just not hyped to start BoTW. I wouldn't be surprised if I magically end up playing TokT
I can't lie BoTW has my favourite art in a Switch game
Lol no dungeons

They aren't
I don't feel great about games deviating from their traditional formula
botw stays my favorite game since i havent completed it and theres still so much more to discover
it just loses its luster when u complete most of the stuff
thats an unprecedented flaw by the zelda team
its worth the $60
if u havent played it before
capcom is being experimental with that definitely not kojima game
not knowing the world actually enhances it
every time u explore it wont be the same
try to look at its exploration from an arpg angle
its what botw did but enhanced on it
every time u explore its a different experience
which platform did u play elden ring
i like my Zelda games being linear
same
link's awakening is one of my top zelda games
I've only played 2 rip
botw was a good experiment tho
which 2
Windwaker and OoT
I enjoyed OoT quite a lot more, it has the best storytelling in a video game I've seen.
its an admirable effort
Yeah lol, open world was surely a newer concept in mid 2000's
oot is excellent
no
zelda nes is open world
Oh
then at the 90s gta expanded on it
@queen cloak u should get link's awakening on switch
its an excellent remake
of?
This year rips my wallet apart when it comes to video games
damn bruh I actually get so sad every time I see a scene in OoT.
its a remake of links awakening on gameboy
O
note to self: never pull a sword out of a stone until im 18
Windwaker and OoT have the best Zeldas
That's one important lesson learned
out of many
king arthur was lucky
link not so much
tbh he got what he "deserved"
and reversed it
That's why OoT is so good
he shouldnt have reversed tho
Zelda Link Ganondorf, and the Sages in that game was honestly built different.
I haven't played TP
Ok I haven't played MM yet
moral: never get back ur childhood if losing it makes u famous
but yes OoT is a beautiful tragedy
link ends up being depressed by the lack of hero clout
I like how the environment Link grows up in actually shapes his life a lot
yeah not all heroes gets clout
link depressed over lack of clout rather than that he saved the world
either way
play mm if u loved oot
I was planning on playing Twilight Princess tbh just because I like the music and atmosphere of that game a lot
play mm first
also one thing
skyward sword sucks on wii
Saria my beloved
switch port fixs its issues
I heard Fi was just horrid on Wii
switch better
get wind waker and tp on it
get tp hd
Gotta love Cemu
oh

im waiting for the impossible switch port
basically like waiting for bloodborne on pc
ill get it on ps4 to play on ps5
gotta love Windwaker having some of the most insane lore in gaming (OoT)
moral: never drop a girl if u captured her
a link in any shape or form will appear to kill u

BotW is literally one of the best reviewed games of all time, how could you possibly call it hit or miss?
It's the best reviewed Switch game
yes
we love Zelda!
yeah miss is a harsh word to use
I've never seen anyone give BoTW a personal rating of below 8
you could be the first
If this is your argument then the phrase "hit or miss" is worthless. There isn't a single game anywhere, ever, that every single person who ever played it loved unconditionally. However, I CAN point to the massively overwhelming scores that BotW get that shows it's a lot more a hit than a miss to a majority of people than your "I know a few people who gave up on it" shows
Don't ignore or discard what is inarguably the mass consensus just because you, personally, don't agree
97 on Metacritic by critics
8.7/10 Metacritic by fans
96 on Opencritic
I'm giving you raw hard data showing that a VAST majority of people, critics and yes also fans, like the game. You're giving biased speculation because you, personally, were disappointed. You said it's not worth $60 because it's "hit or miss" but if you honestly, truly mean that, then there isn't a single game in existence worth $60. You can't have it both ways.
Because reading many, many reviews, from critics and fans, it seems like "liking open world sandbox games" is not a prerequisite
They asked if it's worth $60. The answer to that is almost unequivocally yes.
I will grant, sure, maybe paying $60 for a 6 year old game feels like a lot. In that regard I get it
But if you take the merits of the game itself, the scope, the quality, everything within the game into consideration for the price, I again say if BotW is not worth $60 then no game is
ok any game can be a hit or miss srsly
thanks guys ima get it in march for bday gift cause im broke
fr
just snipe it on a sale
I bought my copy on a back to school sale on amazon
personally bought a used version for 20
worth
I borrowed it one time from a friend and didn't like it because the story felt too messy tbh
At least for me
This is my First zelda game too
well it's really not your fault
Breath of the Wild breaks the traditional formula of Zelda games having a linear formula
I don't value exploration too much but a story is a lot to me. BoTW have less dungeons than your traditional Zelda games I believe but there are tons of shrines.
You should play Ocarina of Time on an emulator or something if you want an amazing story. It's pretty hard to play with without using a walkthrough since it's a really old game but the storytelling is beyond masterful. I like Zelda games being simple with their dialogue and no words feel unessecary. I honestly really enjoyed the dungeons in that game. Whatever you do, don't get spoilers!
I can talk more about it if you really want me too; it's my favourite game after all.
I liked super smash bros ultimate more
