Wired communication error

While trying to get my switch wired with BPL and the Ethernet adapter I’ve been welcomed by an error saying that my switch can’t obtain an IP address (error 2110-2963).

I tried to reboot/unplug and plug everything.

I tried to use a manual IP but I got another error (a DNS one this time, 2110-3127, I then tried to use Google's but no results).

I tried to leave it (turned off) and get back to it but still nothing.

I don’t get why does it not work can anyone help ?

CPL = Courant porteur en ligne
BPL=Broadband over Power Line

Its those kind of prises to get the internet through the power network of the home

Ah I know what it is now. Does your Switch has any trouble over Wifi?

How did you set up the config on the power line adapter?
Is it providing its own DHCP or it's relying on the main router/modem?

Well when i’m standing in my room at the basement yeah i have no access to wifi since the internet box is at the opposite at home but if i take my switch on the living room i can access wifi with no problem and it work very well

So there was no issue with the main router to provide IP address after all

I haven’t tried yet, but it was to my father and i think it worked since they used it some years ago

It's jus a way to call it, it's a powerline adapter, router, etc...

essentially, it's an adapter with router function, but you think arguing about what to call it is a good time-waster?

Now here's 2 things:

• You need to test if that Powerline adapter is still working.
• And then you need to figure out how to reset it back to factory setting and then config it properly.

It might have some conflict due to how it's configured last time.

I just plug the ethernet on my box, then plug the device on any eletrical outlet in the living room and plug the other one on my room then plug the ethernet cable on the switch adapter

The paper document that teach how to config it.

What I can guess is the config on it was giving you the wrong IP address, not following the rules that was set up by the main router.

But why wouldn’t it work while setting the ip adress myself then ?

Maybe because the powerline adapter doesnt accept that IP address either

If the DHCP rules on the adapter and the router are different, it will never work

But shouldn’t it show me an adresse ip error and not a dns error ?
