#New Switch a Brick?

After much consideration I finally decided to buy a Switch (OLED model). Picked it up from Target and followed instructions for initial set up but I'm getting nothing. Just a black screen with no charging indicator or anything. I've tried the usual fixes (different outlet, hard reset, etc) but no dice. Am trying to leave it to charge at this point before trying again but wondering if I'm missing something obvious or if I might just have a lemon that I should simply exchange.

Has anyone experienced something like this? Should I just exchange it at Target? Pretty frustrating and disappointing start!

I'm not sure what's normal because I'm new to switch but there is no light or anything. Literally brick status. I went ahead and returned it to target this afternoon and will just pick up another one

(They don't do exchanges I guess and the lines were too long to bother with 2 kids in tow)

It may lack power. But I suggest to exchange/return it anyway.
